New curtains for above cab

We have a class C motor home with a bed above the cab. We bought it used and the curtains that were up there were pretty nasty. My mom made some new ones, but they're really ugly.

We bought the RV 50/50 with my parents. We'll most likely be buying out 100% of the motor home now, as my parents are getting a divorce, and it is ugly. So are the curtains. I'd like some new ones.

I am really handy with a sewing machine, so I could sew some (I'd love to make some with lime green Mickey heads ::yes::), but right now there is a yard with 4 feet of snow keeping me from going out there and looking at the curtains. I'd ask my mom about making them, but things are really messy right now, and I've pretty much cut ties with both parents.

I'm anxious to get working on some cutrains, so does anyone have any instructions on making them? I know they have some weird things on them for sliding them back and forth. Anyone ever made such curtains? Any tips?

Thanks :love2:

Nope , sorry, don't know beans bout make'n curtains,,but may I suggest a fishing patern, something with maybe, Trout, or maybe something bigger, like maybe Sailfish, :thumbsup2

Sorry to hear bout the parents,,that sucks. It's always so much harder on the children.(you).

At our RV dealership store. They sell all different kind of curtain attachments to make or repair. Plus Camping World sells parts. I just found curtains already made that i liked and cut them to size and added the attachments. It worked great.

It is more than likely a plastic C shaped clip on the fabric that snaps onto the rod. If so you can buy these on plastic strips that sew into the fabric. they are available through any RV dealer and if by chance you can't find clips to fit your track just replace the track to match.
I have replaced most of my curtains and have enough strips to finish the job.
After 30 years things tend to get dated:lmao:

I'm currently working on some new curtains :woohoo:

I found some awesome mickey-head fabric (it even has lime green mickey heads on it), and I bought some of the wall mount tape online - the stuff with the runner clips that you sew onto the curtains.

The wall mount tape was $10 a foot at the local RV store I went to :scared1:, and it was $6 a yard online.

I will post pictures when they're done and hung up.

You could buy curtains from camping world online, but they were about $100 a curtain - which I really don't understand :confused3 I might have to get into the camper wall-mount curtain sewing business :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the tips. I wouldn't have gotten started on this project without your help.

Oh yes, I'll definitely post pictures!

My sewing machine went haywire on me today, as my luck would have it  I hope I can get it in to be looked at tonight or tomorrow. Sewing emergency! Sewing emergency!
