I have not read if you must be taken directly to your seat or can you go get your fixings, so you could eat your food warm. Or must you first give your food a tour through the restaurant to the table and then back to the fixings bar?

I am definitely not a fan of this one, but who knows until my visit. I read it is for busy times only, so I guess we will eat at a lot of off hours then.

Thanks :santa:

I am sure you can stop and fix the burgers before you are seated.

Remember the escorted seating is not in effect all the time - only when Disney thinks the crowds in the restaurants warrant it.

We were at Cosmic Ray's today and they weren't escorting anyone. The place was packed.

How do you get to the fixins bar if everyone has to wait in lines. Pecos Bills fixins bar is right behind the waiting/ordering/pick up area ?

I haven't heard of that. We were there last week and they didn't do that. I don't see how that would work, anyway. Most CS's are so crowded, it would take a lot of people to seat everyone.

I am definitely not a fan either, because my last 2 trips have been with DD at 2 and 3 years old. She is extremely active. Either DH or I park her at a table and get her settled down while the other one grabs food for all of us. Standing in line with her would have been a disaster. There is no way to hold the food, coral her, and keep her still enough not to knock into other customers and have their trays of food come crashing to the ground. She will stand in line fine when she knows there is a ride at the other end, but food is a completely different story.

We have also had my Mom (in her 70s) on one of the trips and my MIL who has physical disabilities on the other trip. By the time we stop to eat, they both physically NEED to sit down and have one of the rest of us get their food for them. Don't even get me started on the fact they replaced all of the chairs with stools at Pecos Bill. I haven't seen them yet, but I don't think we will be able to eat there anymore. Neither Mom or MIL would be able to eat there- they need seat backs to lean on. I don't want to sit on stools without backs either, as I like to lean back and relax while I eat at WDW. Plus, I don't think DD will sit still on a stool and I also worry she will fall off and hurt herself. On our trip last December, we saw a kid fall off a stool at one of the restaurants (not Pecos Bill), and get hurt.

I'm not real sure how they would do it at Cosmic Rays. I think they have a problem there because they have different menus in different areas. In fact, that's one of the things I hate about Cosmic Rays. Our family never wants things from the same line. When we go there, I have to park DH with DD, then I have to go through a line to get their food first. Then I have to go back and get in a different line to get my food. It's such a pain.

I was there last Monday and the upper room had chairs while the first 2 rooms you walk thru had the stools.

So hopefully, when you go the chairs will still be there.

If a lot of guests complained to guest relations that they don't like the new seating arrangements, do you think WDW would consider getting rid of it?

What upper room? There's no upstairs at Pecos Bill's is there? I posted a photo yesterday from last June - 2008 - showing the stools at Pecos Bill's. So that part is not new, although the article made it sound like it was (didn't notice if it was part stools and part chairs back then and we haven't eaten there since).

I am having trouble understanding this. Cm's "seat you"? at a CS restauraunt? Is this new? i did not notice it the first week of Feb. :surfweb:

That's what I was thinking but started second guessing myself (I can be fairly oblivious at the World sometimes - lots of shiny distracting things! :rotfl:).

Darn- I was getting excited- I was going to find that upper room I had never noticed before. Oh well, it's WDW, I know we won't starve, even if we have to survive on Mickey Head Ice cream bars. ;)
