Hi all I have a couple of questions. Myself, my son, my mom & my aunt will all be on our first cruise next Sept (hopefully).

I am going to be booking my cruise using DVC points. I am hoping to book a cat 9 room for the 9/16/06 Costa Maya cruise. But I have to wait til the 11 month mark.....Is there any chance this will be booked before I have the chance?

2nd question: My aunt was telling me today that on her birth certificate it just says "Baby Girl Young" Will that be accepted?? Should she go ahead and get a passport?? Or is there something else she can use.

I am sure I will have a zillion more questions before next year :teeth:

TIA!

It would be doubtful that the cat 9 would be sold out by the 11 month window but it is a chance. I also believe that passports may be required as of 01/01/2006. It is well worth it and the most fun a family can have, enjoy the anticipation!

tell auntie to go ahead and get the passport since it will probably be manadatoraly enforced by then. she is also going to want to get an ammended birth certificate (not a hard process) before she applies for the passport.

reminds me of my mom getting her bc many years ago to apply for dad's social security/retirement benefits. she had'nt ever seen it as an adult. she found out her real given name "agnes", and that she had been going by a nickname all her life :rotfl: it sent her older sister rushing to request her own because she vaguely remembered being called by another name as a young child :teeth:

boy though, could i tell you some "winner" names and misspellings of names (gave them a whole new meaning) i saw over the years in government service.............

 I don't know the answer to your question, but I wanted to respond because I have been trying to find someone who will be cruising on the September 16th, 2006 Western Cruise. My daughter and I will be cruising then and I am looking for families with children her age. This is her first cruise and she is excited. She wants to spend time in the Oceaneers Lab, but she is hoping to make some friends so she isn't alone. How old is your son???

Hi gssmks :)

My son will have just turned 5 when we cruise. How old is your daughter?? I would love to meet some more kids for him too.

Hello Trecia

My daughter will 8 at the time of sailing. This is will be the cruise for both of us and we are so excited. I read through some of the threads on this site last night and all of the families I found either had children five and under or no children at all. I was concerned about this when I booked a September cruise. The children my child's age are back in school. My daughter will be missing a week for the cruise, but her school has a program where the excuse the absenses and allow makeup work if their is an educational element to the vacation. I discussed it with the principal and she said to just make at least one of the shore excursion educational and she would excuse her for the week. Anyway, my daughter will be very happy to meet and play with your son. They will not be in the same kids club on the ship but maybe they can meet up at the pool or other on board activity.
