This from the DIS Newsletter just received (doesn't give the source of the info):

We’ve all heard that Disney Cruise Line is building a third ship and that they are waiting until the Dollar vs. the Euro thing works itself out. I know what your thinking…..yeah, yeah, yeah…..heard that……tell us something new.
Ok kids….this is the new stuff…. and it’s a list:
The new ship will be sailing out of Florida with the Magic moving to California
The name…The Disney Dream….of course.
There will be expandable restaurants. The main restaurants will be larger in size with parts able to be closed off or opened depending on need.
Another restaurant similar to Palo, but with a French Bistro theme
Animator’s Palate will be there, but all dolled up by a Las Vegas show designed, with many more special effects.
Children’s programming to be expanded and become much more involved.
The main pool will have an “Under the Sea with Nemo” theme. There will be things suspended over the pool (think fish) and stilt walkers.
The ship will be several decks taller then the current ships, but not wider. The current ships just fit through the Panama Canal.
There will be many more stateroom options including larger parties of 5 or 6 six passengers.
The Disney Dream will carry the same look as the current ships. It will have the classic 30’s Ocean Liner look.

I can speak with confidence that this ship will be built sooner than later. Disney is already looking into paint and wood contracts, from what I am understanding. They are in a holding pattern, but will definately do this. I also think there will be 5-6 ships before all is said and done.

It is not surprising they would put the new ship in Florida. It would make a bigger splash there. I am also happy that they have resisted the urge to build the "biggest" ship in the water. That would be a mistake

Last info I read from Disney was that the dollar being in the toilet was holding up the project.

So does this mean its official there building the new ship or its still in the bargaining stage. I dont care if we get the new ship or not. As long as I can go on a disney cruise vacation every year imhappy. Its a long flight from california to florida. And hey if there is a discounted rate i can just take off of work and drive there. :)
