I too love my WDW 2004 Deluxe Passporter so I was all set to order the new Cruise Passporter, but I am disappointed in the fact that it doesn't come out until May. Cruise season is already in full swing, and so it would seem to me that they should have done their best to get the book out a bit sooner (I read on the Passporter boards that they were waiting on including info about possible new Disney ships). Regardless, the timing of it doesn't seem the best to me.
As well, I live in Canada, so I ordered mine through Amazon.ca as it was much cheaper and would be delivered right to my door - but now I see from yesterday's Passporter News email that bookstores won't be receiving stock until Mid May - this greatly upsets me since my cruise is on May 2! I understand that as the publisher they want people to order directly through them, but for international orders, they are very expensive, plus there is no guarantee as to when I would receive my order due to customs. I also have the option of having the book delivered to a friend in the US or directly to my resort, but again, even with the 30% discount code from my WDW Passporter, it is still more expensive, as she lives in Michigan which means I have to pay sales tax, plus shipping, plus a handling fee. I find that ordering directly from Passporter is expensive as their shipping and handling fees are pretty high. Plus we are arriving for a week in WDW on April 23 (prior to cruise) and so I have no idea if they even would have been able to get it to us on time.
Thanks for letting me vent. I had emailed Passporter to ask specifics about when the new edition was coming out, and I never received a response, so I was hoping and praying that it would come out before our first
Disney Cruise on May 2 - at this point I not only feel jinxed, but extremely disappointed that I won't be receiving my book until sometime in May which is AFTER I have cruised!
Thanks for reading this far. As usual, it pays to be American as us Canadians ALWAYS get left out in the cold in regards to ordering stuff from the US.
