Did anyone else see the cruise line news on the front page of wdwinfo.com? It looks like DCL is changing some of the children's programs, casual dining not going to be buffet anymore, and they are upgrading the towels and sheets. I look forward to hearing from people that experience the changes and seeing new children's navigators.

We'll be there soon and will let you know about the new items. However I have to now get a golden mickey statue. I will forever walk around the house holding it and thanking the academy! Thanks for the information.

Good about the casual dining, then maybe the people who insist on going to formal night in their tee shirts, short, and flip flops will go!

On the 8/21 Magic, our kids (11 & 8) had new Navigators. They still refer to the Lab and the Club, but the overall theme is now Disney Sea University. The activities were mostly the same, but the program at the end of the week was now done as a graduation. The kids each got a T-shirt that had the Disney Sea University crest and Alumni on it and a graduation cap with mickey ears. The program was nice. They still show a montage of pictures of the kids during the week and Mickey shows up in a cap and gown.

It was the same on th 8/14 in the kids club final program, I thought it was really nice and the tee shirts a lot nicer for the older kids.

That sounds very cool about the Kids program. My girls almost 8,6 and almost 4 will love it.

Now I have something to look forward to for 2006.

I say amost because I have two B-days this week. My oldest will be 8 on Friday and my youngest will be 4 on Saturday.

Did they make any changes to age groupings? We specifically scheduled our upcoming cruise so our 10-year-old and 12-year-old could be in the same club. If they have shuffled the age breaks, the kids will be devastated.

Thanks for any info.

What does that mean about the casual dining? Does it mean there will only be sit-down-and-order at all meals?

My DH and I were sooo looking forward to the famous buffets!!
Anyone have any info???

Is this for all cruises? or just 7 day?

NO buffet??? I am not thrilled about that either!
Is this both ships? we are going on the wonder.

thanks for any information!

It looks like casual dining means it is sit down and not buffet.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the link! I am thrilled with most of the changes. We will especially look forward to:

Andy's Birthday Party
Crabby Crafts
Ocean Moves
Salty Sea

I'm wondering if these will be available for the 3 Day cruises.

Glad to see Andy and Jesse will be there too. My DGS would LOVE to see Buzz though. Is Buzz ever on the ship?

Happy to hear DCL is experimenting with different times for ground transportation from resort to port. Maybe they realize how much business they are losing to town car/limo services because of the "later" arrival times to port on DCL buses.

Happy about early Nassau departure, new towels, and all the other good things.

BUT! Is this the end of TopSiders Buffet?????
:( Can't believe it!

Tink

I was wondering the same thing about Topsiders. Does anyone know anything about this. We always went there for Breakfast. I will be sad if this is going to be sit down as well.

I emailed Disneycruise.com and asked them directly.
I will post as soon as I hear if they are doing away with all
buffets, and Topsiders.

thanks:D

I cannot remember where from but I had an e-mail about these changes sent to me

TOPSIDERS This only relates to the Magic and the Topsider casual dining that took place when formal nights were on in the normal restaurants.

Breakfast and lunch is the same as usual, but now with added soda drinks,

I read that if you decide to go to Topsiders on one of these evenings, you select your starter from a buffet, go to a table, and then order the main item which is cooked for you.

Thanks for letting us know, Andrew. I feel so much better about it now. We love TopSiders for breakfast and lunch. :)

Does this mean that Verandah Man stayed on the Magic and is now working for Disney?? :o

DD1 will b so excited about graduation -- she graduates from preschool this year and they've already talked about it. It sounds like some nice Kids Club changes.

Maybe CM_Mom can confirm/deny some of the kids changes as she has an inside connection?

wow that was a quick reply here is what they told me about topsiders/buffets:

8/31/04

Thank you for your e-mail.

We have no plans to remove Topsider Buffet or Beach Blanket Buffet.

We look forward to the chance to sail with you.

Sincerely,

Jennifer
