new Courtyard Marriott taking reservations

Harbor. Right next to or perhaps behind the Fairfield.
Yep, the address is 1420 South Harbor Boulevard.

Not to be confused with the existing Courtyard Marriott at Convention Center, which is also on Harbor....that one is 2045 South Harbor Boulevard. My DH mistakenly booked that one first, but then realized it was too good to be true when suites were coming out to be $169/night!

It probably depends on your dates, but I'm going midweek late October and rates start at $259.00. Their Facebook page said they would be more expensive than surrounding hotels on Harbor, but much less than Disney properties. Interesting, because for my dates, Paradise Pier is only $23.00 more per night.

PPH with the ap discounts actually cheaper for my dates assuming the rates are similar to last year. I think the rooms are bigger though at the courtyard. I figure we will stay once to see how it is then decide if it's worth the money to stay there when PPH is comparable.

Yeah, I was thinking about this too..which is why I kept waffling between this or the DLH. Especially with the Orbitz deals you can get on resort properties. Though I think the difference must really depends on the dates you book.

For us (going week of Thxgiving), the DLH (even with a 20% Orbitz discount!) ended up still being about $150 more per night than this Marriott..and that was for a room (no fireworks view), and not a suite. So it was still significantly cheaper. In the end, we figured that with 2 nearly-school-age kiddos, for 5 nights, we'd rather have a suite, with nice fireworks view and have the extra $$$ for spending in the parks. Also, my DH has Gold Elite Marriott status, and gets a few perks with that, so that probably pushed us over the edge. :)

the rooms in this Marriott are definitely bigger. Per the website, the rooms at the new Marriott are over 500 sq ft. I looked it up and PPH/DLH/GCH rooms are 350-400 sq ft

I was so excited to stay at this hotel but for the exact same dates PPH is only a total of $5 more, both standard rooms. I'm pretty disappointed in the pricing. An extra $5 for onsite and early entry every day. Totally worth it.

If we were a family of four and there was only a small difference between the new courtyard and onsite, we would definitely stay onsite. However, we are a family of six so staying onsite is out of the budget. I'm really excited about the new hotel.

Yeah, we're in the same boat, and that's just our family without grandparents or aunts and uncles tagging along. We usually just cram in a standard room at PPH and just count our twins as 1 kid (hey, they came out at the same time, right?). I'm hoping the space for 6 is worth it to not have EMH for that price.

We managed to book for our stay in one of the 5 3 bedroom suites at $289 a night we have 5 adults and 1 kid so it's perfect for us
Looking forward it to

I would check to see if the bunkbeds are even big enough for adults. I would think they are kid size bunkbeds. Otherwise your 5 adults might be in for sn uncomfortable nights sleep.

The

they confirmed are big enough for adults as they are a twin
oh wow that is nice, thanks for this. our kiddos are 4 and 5yo, and was wondering if my oldest would be ok with sleeping on the top bunk. but if it is a twin then if needed, they could totally share the bottom bunk :)

$259/night in October. That is too high for us. For about that amount we could stay on site.

I agree, too high for us. Last week I booked a room at the Holiday Inn Express that is opening in August right next to this new Courtyard. It's half the price, and includes a hot breakfast. I'm sure the pool will be very basic. I debated whether or not we should stay at the courtyard, but it makes no sense for us. We are at the parks ALL day, and only use the pool at night after we return (parks close at 8pm then). I know people are loving the large room sizes of the courtyard, but it makes no difference to us. We are only in our room to sleep. I'd love to stay at the Courtyard, but for us, it just doesn't make sense.

Seems so strange to me. I made a slight adjustment to our dates and PPH hotel is now $50 less than the new Marriott for a standard room for 2 adults and 2 children.

I actually priced checked PPH for our dates and our party of 5 adults and 1 kid and it was going to
Cost us $700 a night I think $289 is quite reasonable really especially for 6
