New Contract, Diff Resort, Same UY - MA accidentally gave me a new member ID#

Maybe I missed something - did OP mention if their purchase was direct from Disney or through the resale market?

I have five different UYs (Feb, Jun, Sep, Oct, Dec), each UY generated a new membership number.

That explains it. You can’t not have different UYs in the same membership. Every UY has to be its own.

To have things under one Memvership, they have to be same owners, and same UY…doesn’t matter the resort…those can be different.

Do you know whether in addition to having the same names on the deed you have to have them titled the same way? For example if you title one deed as tenants in common & the other as joint tenants I can see them creating a new membership.

Can't say for certain, but I suspect it's the actual names that are important.

I've been told everything needed to be exactly the same but I don't know why it actually should matter. I kind of think it wouldn't.

Practically speaking in day to day use of the points how the deed is titled doesn‘t matter. However, to change ownership of a particular contract for ex. through resale, inheritance (w/ or w/out probate,) or divorce, then how title is held does matter, I’m sure DVC could deal w/ title differences w/in the same membership just as they deal w/ when one contract of a membership is sold or a new contract is added, but it’s possible that because the ownership is legally different if the deeds are titled/held differently they may require different memberships even if the member names are the same.

it was resale - i have three contracts at 2 resorts. the problem was resolved after about a week or so and everything is in the same member ID now, so not too painful, but it took a little prodding on my end. I was booking a reservation within 7 months and trying to use points from both resorts which was the reason for caring.

I got stressed out reading this 😅 I’m glad it’s working out for you though. I have now 8 contracts across 4 resorts but all under one membership so it’s relatively easy to manage. For the 8-11 month bookings it’s straightforward but when everything is combined at under 7 months I sometimes forget which points were used. I also have mainly small contracts (under 120 pts) so it’s important to me that I can combine contracts. I think if I have fairly large contracts where there is no need to combine, different memberships probably wouldn’t be a big deal at all. But 5 uys.. that’s impressive!
