New contract + banked points + transfer to other contract....Do we both need to be on the call?

New resale contract (that has a different UY than our other contract....same home resort) showed up in our account today that has 50 banked points and 50 current UY points. We have an upcoming stay that we would like to apply the 50 banked points to, and free up 50 *other* points for. Will I need DH to be available on the call for transferring the points since he is on the contract and his account was used to make the current set of reservations?

It's a little convoluted.
-What we have right now is a 3 night stay in a studio using some Dec 2024 UY points (we are under 30 day for this trip)
-And then a 2br using the rest of the Dec 2024 UY points AND all of our Dec 2025 UY points (borrowed.)

I *only* want to use the 50 banked points from the new contract, but would it make sense to transfer all 100 of the "new" points to my Dec. contract so I can use them in conjunction with the 50 points that I'm freeing up by replacing them with the borrowed points in a future stay (will likely end up banking points for a Jan 2026 stay.)

If this is unclear or confusing, I can try to further clarify. I'm just trying to figure out the most sensible and straight-forward way to do this before I call.

Also, will MS load points on the weekend, or will I have to wait until Monday to ask them nicely to load the points?

First, if you are within 31 days of the trip, any freed up points will be in holding which restricts them…unless the 2 bedroom is farther out ?

If the membership that the reservation is on is not in your name at all, then DH has to be on the call.

Because this is a new contracts you might be able to get MS to move points and waive the holding status for you.

Assuming you can get MS to waive holding for you, and get them to transfer the banked points…either you or DH has to be in both or they won’t transfer banked points…then you can swap those.

Transferring all 100, and reallocating those into the trip would leave you more to bank in your original membership.

But what is the UY of the second membership? Even if moved, they keep their own UY and dares die booking so that can play a role in where you want them.

The 2br is 31 days on Monday. Hence the urgency with this.

Both our names are on both contracts, it’s just that we used DH’s login to make the 2br reservation and I needed his confirmation for something else with this stay…I can’t remember exactly what, possibly OTU points for something else (before we decided to get more points 😂)

Yes. This is the plan since those, combined with the new non-banked points will give us enough to do another January week in 2026. (I know we can’t “unborrow” our Dec 2025 points.)

It’s a Sept UY. And yes, I understand they’ll keep their UY even when transferred.

Do I have to transfer and bank in one transaction, or would the transferred Sept points (the non-banked ones) still retain their banking date as if they were not banked?

If you are an owner on both, then DH does not need to be on the call if you want your transfer the points.

MS has been allowing banked points to go between the same owners memberships so if they say they can’t, then ask to talk to a supervisor or call back.

When you call, let them know about the holding dilemma you are facing and maybe they will be able to load the points tomorrow for you and do it!

Once transferred the points will sit in a temporary contract in your Dec UY and you can either bank on the call, or call back. You won’t be able to bank the transferred points online.

Also, because they are a different UY, even same resort, they are most likely not going to work for booking during the 11 month window online. You will have to call for that too…at 7 months, transferred points seem to work fine.

Thank you! I k ew the basics of it, but just wanted to be sure I knew all of the things to ask for when I call so that it can go smoothly. This is the only time we should have this issue (because of those banked points) and I’m looking forward to having more points to play with.
