New Contemporary DVC

Tink10 your hard work at finding the design was very much appreciated!!! :thumbsup2

I happen to like the design - I think it will go very well with the Cont.

Tiffer don't bother - the architect removed the design from the website the day after Tink10 first posted it here.
I copied the design for my own personal viewing into a word document. Of course, I have no idea how to post it here or I would!

I've got the renderings in my photo site too, tink should get to be the 1st visitor @ CRV (gratis:banana: ).

Okay, few more thoughts bouncing around if anyone cares to comment...

1) read that AKL is built to withstand hurricane force winds...any of the other resorts have those specs? DH & I were discussing this the other night since we'll be venturing down in mid Oct (BCV & CR MK Tower)... Friends were @ Values couple years ago & were just told to hunker down & stay away from the windows. They were stuck there a few extra days & were "comp'd" their room.

2) recall a post that stated according to FL law a TS has to be a certain % completed before pre-sales, does that include the infra-structure or a base number of units must be totally ready for occupancy?

3) wetlands issue...in PA, there are instances of "switching out" tracts of land if similar vegetation & inhabitants are present with a reasonable distance. Know that WDW has a nature reserve 45 min. or so south of WDW...wonder if that's their "token" wetlands to satisfy fed. regs.

all the WDW resorts are built to with stand at least 120 miles wind.

OKW is build to 160 miles wind - or I think that is what I got told one year (before the hurricanes started to hit central florida) - we were there in Sept and Miami was the target that year. Oh I asked one on the engineers not the front desk.

So I feel pretty safe in a WDW or DVC resort.

now Kissimmee & Orlando is not build that strong. I would think the other name brands - Marriott, Hilton, Sheraton to be - but some of the no-namers received alot of damage.

all the DVC building are concrete and steel - so they aren't going anywhere.

some of the WDW resorts are too - some aren't.

Thanks spicey, good to know.:)

We had a "micro-burst" roll thru one time we were on vacation in SC, came back to a home w/blown in windows & most of our trees felled.

Would hate to see the devastation that a hurricane can cause, first hand.

I remember reading something, somewhere awhile back about the infrastructure for a DVC was put in place at AKL when it was first built.....Anyone know anything about this???

This would make sense... I am sure Disney's planning in the last couple of decades has included expansion, and the inclusion of DVC. I think both CRV and AKV are going to happen.

By the way Tink, you are now a legend.... :worship:

Wow....that would be an honor....but, I have a feeling that after this, I'll be on DVC's naughty list ;)
