Has anybody else seen the construction going on between the GF and the Polynesian? Not renovations to existing longhouses. This was concrete being poured and was visible from the monorail.

Anybody have any ideas? Is it related to Captain Cook's "drainage problem"? Maybe a new longhouse? (yeah, in our collective dreams!) Part of the renovation of Luau Cove?

I'll have to investigate this! this is the first I've heard of any new construction b/w the GF and Poly!

If I find out before someone posts the answer, I'll let ya know! :)

I don't know about that but I did see some architects looking over Captain Cook's in October. There were about 8 of them and they were hanging outside the side door entrance that leads outside of Captain Cook's. They were pointing up on the wall and sounded like they were expanding that. Also there was a septic truck outside of Raratonga, between it and the GCH, every day we were there. It was most definitely a problem somewhere there.

captain cooks was closed until last sunday due to the septic pipe problem mentioned already. any construction you saw was likely due to the captain cooks problem and should be finished. they were using kona island as a make-shift captain cooks while it was being cleaned.. i was there over the weekend and the poly looks as good as ever :D

They had cut up the paths over near Luau Cove back in the summer when they were draining the foundations of the longhouses (Fiji and Aotearoa). Maybe they were using the cement to redo the paths they cut up.
