new computer suggestions!! HP?

we need a new desktop, this thing is pretty ancient (in computer years anyways) and there's several components on their way out on it. I saw an HP desktop at compusa for $700 and might buy it but I haven't been able to find any reviews on HP desktops! I like to hear real people reviews!!

I'd be interested in any suggestions, they don't have to be HP brand, I'm open to whatever model, brand or whatever works good!

We've had great experiences with Dell desktops and Thinkpad laptops.

You're going to get 2 views here.

1. I've had my Dell/Mac/HP/Compaq/Gateway/etc. for 5 years and never had a problem.
2. I had a Dell/Mac/HP/Compaq/Gateway/etc. and it was the biggest piece of &*%#, I'll never buy a Dell/Mac/HP/Compaq/Gateway/etc again.

If you are looking for cheap and basic, the eMachines you can get at places like BestBuy are a great deal (as long as you fill out all the rebate form). Nice little computers too.
