So, any opnions... Are the free dining pins and fall discount codes from 9/28-10/11 an indication that it won't be too busy after all at that time? We're going exactly that time and were curious as to fall break crowds, especially since there weren't any room only discounts available. I know Disney knows how to bring in the people so I'm hoping this is a great sign for my vacation!!! Maybe possible hurricane threats are changing people's plans? Regardless, the fall code saved me money so I'm thrilled!!

I wondered the same thing when I saw those codes on Mousesavers. The code starts less than a month from its release and is for just 2 weeks.

There's no question that Disney is seeing a drop-off in people staying on-site during the first week of October. They have been offering free dining, room only deals and even free MNSSHP tickets to FL residents for that week.

It must be the lag between general public free diding (which ends in Sept.) and Columbus Day weekend.

We'll be down there, so looking forward to light crowds.

Personally, I've never seen so many promotions offered for only a month from the travel dates.

WDW is pretty good at filling empty rooms so while it might not be completely full with the discounts they are offering they will probably fill most of the empty rooms. Now off site is a different question, if WDW hotels are slow filling then there will likely be more empty off site rooms which do not have the breadth of offers available like WDW has to bring in new or extended stays.

So while the WDW resorts/hotels may not me much less than full, the parks may well be.

Current reports are crowds are smaller than past years.

The short notice codes are either an indication of low crowds or a new marketing strategy, or a little of both. If we see really deep discounts, like the ones after 9/11, we will know it is that there are too many empty rooms.

While I love a good code, I would rather our economy bounced back. No pun intended. Or was it?
