Is it posted on Disney's site under special offers? And what do the booking dates say on the DIS updates?

Is it posted on Disney's site under special offers? And what do the booking dates say on the DIS updates?

Sorry, my post should have read that the info is posted on the main page of this site (disboards), under their dis site updates.

Unless it is from an official Disney site, it is not a public code. And like I said, some things are loaded early for testing. I believe the DIS update says that booking starts 1/3. Would you be okay with potentially costing someone their job, just to save a few bucks?

Regardless of how I do or don't feel about it, I think this conversation has taken a turn I really don't care to engage in any longer. Before it turns into a full blown arguement I am removing myself from this particular aspect of the conversation. Sorry.

It is the CMs responsibility to look after the status of their job in this situation; they are the employees of the company who know what is policy and what isn't allowed etc, and they have every power to say no if it isn't right. So in other words, if a CM were to get in trouble over this, it would be their fault as they allowed it.

Now lets get excited about the amazing discounts that some of you have gotten, :rotfl::goodvibes:wizard:

Wish I had a trip planned!

Not for nothing but I use to do data entry for a major retailer and when loading any promotion into a computer there is a start date and and ending date which obviously was in the system as early as the evening of 12/31 as I saw mention of someone being able to modify their reservation late that evening.

When I called about 9am yesterday 1/1, after reading a few posts of people calling earlier the CM seemed totally knowledgeable of the promotion and very easily modified my reservation, changeing my dates and room catagory.

Seems to me whether the start date was entered incorrectly causing promotion being able to used or if it was intentional as a "test" I do not see where anyone did anything wrong, not the Disers(myself included)who called to inquire about the promotion or the CM's manning the phone lines.

I guess I just do not understand what all the hoopla is about :confused3

Happy Planning to all!!

Well we saved a good chunk of money on our upcoming trip! Woohoo!! Hurry up May!!

What are the "select" resorts in each category? We haven't booked our vacation yet and I want to know if what I'm considering is counted.

In all honesty I have no idea what is meant by "select" resorts. What I did was price out the resorts and room catagories I was interested then called and inquired of the CM what was the availability at ____________ for the dates I was interested in with the booking code YW3. I was lucky my first choice was available and I was able to modify my previous reservation.

Hope this helps

Good Morning everyone,

Just wanted to share my good news: I could not get the code through the CM yesterday but today I called and it was easily applied to my package for CSR May3-12!

The kids do not know we are going yet so I am quietly dancing around! Keep working on it today-for those that did not get it to work yesterday, my CM today was soo nice and very accomodating.:cutie:

Thanks for all the great info everyone supplied here-it saved me 500.00! yippiee!

Because it's not a public code. If you read the sticky at the top of the page, you shouldn't have even made this post, encouraging others to try to use it before the booking dates. It's not unusual for things to get loaded ahead of time for testing. You could get the CM's that apply codes ahead of time in trouble for using them ahead of time.

I've done Change Management and IT QA for a large company. Testing should be done on a QA or Testing server, not on the production system. Pre-loading should be done as close to production as possible, usually the night before. That's, of course, barring other considerations (and there are usually other consideration).

But from what I've read, it sounds like the code was loaded with a system upgrade to save time - which is pretty standard stuff, and what most companies would do. I would hypothesize that someone called, tried the code with a CM who didn't realize they shouldn't use the code yet. Word spread and before long, the call center management decided "oh what the heck" and is letting people who know about the code use the code.

We are, after all, a tiny itsy bit of the population, and you know we'd all be calling at 9AM on Monday if we had to wait - this way we've been spread out over a slow Holiday weekend instead! Win-Win.

I just got off the phone with Disney after modifying our current ressie :yay:. The CM I talked to was super nice :).......as soon as I gave her the YW3 code, she punched it in, gave me the new price, then completed the change :goodvibes. It took just a few minutes for her to change our free dining package to the new code :wizard:.

Hi all,

After reading some posts about CM's possibly getting in trouble or not applying codes correctly, I just wanted to add my little two cents:

I work for company "XYZ" and one of our contracts was Disney on Broadway. If the code is applied by a CM and it goes through, then the CM is covered. The system will reject a price change if the code is not valid or has not been "turned on" so to speak.

The confusion comes in because agents (CM's) are not always getting the new information at the same time. More times than not, one CM will have been told one thing and another may not have been updated. That's not a reflection on their capability though-just how misinformation happens in a large company.

Happy planning in the New Year!:goodvibes:thumbsup2

A company with a logical policy that's good for its peeps! :woohoo:

I just called and we just saved $851 on our 1 bedroom villa at the Boardwalk from 5/23-5/27! :woohoo: Of course, I had to call three times but I think it was because I was giving the code has 'YM3.' :lmao:

Congratulations to all those who are saving money on their upcoming trips!! I don't know why but it seems like saving money on the hotel room makes the trip a 100000 times more exciting!

Happy planning!

Glad others are getting the discounts today! Sounds like the discounts are going more smoothly today than they did yesterday! :goodvibes:goodvibes
