New code....room only and package

To price a ressie with the discount code, select "special offers" or scroll to the bottom to the special offers link. There you will read about the offer and must click the "book now" from that page to get the discount pricing. You can always re-enter the same thing via the regular "tickets and reservations" link to see how much you've saved with the codes. ---Kathy

I won't even call anymore about codes - Public or AP. They're so few and far between I don't even find it's worth it anymore. I used to always count on getting them, but the last 2 years, they have become harder and harder to get. It's disheartening when you call again and again and you get the same response - "nothing available". Add to that rude CM's who are tired of taking calls asking about discounts, and it just makes for an unpleasant phone call.

Actually, we're saving more money on this trip with our room rates than we have in years, but it was just luck of the draw. However, it's always more work to get discounts than just making the reservations at rack rates. That's to be expected.

There was a time when discounts at Disneyworld were unheard of. Virtually everyone paid rack rate and no one complained. Then came 9/11 and discounts were so plentiful that everyone came to expect them.

I love a bargain as much as anyone, but I've never look at Disneyworld as a bargain vacation nor do I expect to get a cut rate when I go. Any discounts I get are just a bonus. If I want to put the time and effort into finding them, I can. If not, I pay rack rate. It took me all of about 2 minutes yesterday to save $120 on a one night reservation...not a bad return in my book!

I don't think you can blame Disney for not making discounts as easy to come by as paying full price.

that is frustrating. From what i hear it more aboute villas than rooms to.
Its also no better than the deal that just ended.

Bummer. We'll be at Pop Century from Nov. 25-Dec 2. My AAA rate was $65.60 so the code doesn't save me anything. It would be $69.

But still, $65.60 is a good rate and it is DISNEY! :cool1:

We have to pay cash one night at Wilderness Lodge Villas (we are DVC members but there were no rooms on points) for 10/25. Does anyone know if there are any codes for me for my time period. Our rate with DVC discount is like $269 (i think). i would love to get it for less. thanks.

Well, I called, we are at POP in Nov for 7 nights. The discount price would be $59/night. With the pin code we already used, our pin code price is $46/night. Obviously, our pin code was better this time. The CM was very nice and helpful. When we booked, it was a package, so I never knew what our room rate was until today. I nearly fell off my chair, $46 !

I was trying to book online yesterday for AKL for Dec. 9-13, but it wouldn't let me book online for new code and I didn't feel like calling and talking to all the lovely CM's you guys were talking about ;) - so I tried my AP rate for same time, and I got AKL for $145/night with $75 dining card:cool1: . When I tried same dates this morning for AKL at room-only discount, it was $149/night for same dates, which is good too, but I saved $20 plus have $75 for eating out.

I think the really big savings on this code are for the villas. As I said, our discount is about 40% off rack. It's beyond me why a BCV studio is cheaper than a standard room, even at rack rate, but it is.

We were just incredibly lucky. We only needed one night and it just happened to be that night was the first date available on this code. We never do the dining plan so this is perfect for us.

I was able to book Pop for just one night, December 18. With taxes, the room was $91.12. It was higher than I wanted but every little bit helps. We are staying just one night before checking in at AKL. I was able to book a Savannah room back at the beginning of the year at the 40% code.

I just checked the new code, my current package 6 nights at POR standard room, 2 adults, including 7 day park hoppers no water parks and inc. dining plan $1666. Same thing with the new code $1796.
So I will stay with what I have, it is paid for anyway.

Not a huge amount, but I saved almost $90.00...

OLD code - 6 nights AKL 2A/1C 1 day base tix + dining $1868.09

NEW code - 6 nights AKL 2A/1C 1 day base tix + dining $1779.09
(I think the actual room rate is $149 x 4 nights then $164 x 2 nights)

So (in theory) the MVMCP tix I was going to buy anyway for $148 total are now only costing me $59.00.

I booked the new one on line. What was interesting was that I did the link for the room only discount, but was then able to add tix and dining to the reservation. I honestly don't know which code I ended up using because there are so many, then they're different if you're booking on line vs on the phone.

Hey - $90.00 is better in my pocket than in theirs (but of course I'm going to give it right back!)

Already have a ressie for WL Courtyard View for 11/6 to 11/13. Just checked online, and they had WL Woods View with Bunk Beds for $450 less.

Just called my AAA agent and she is going to see if she can grab that for me. Woods view B/B wasn't available when I originally booked. I'll take a woods view and pocket the $450 :)

Keeping my fingers crossed.

Update: Just spoke with my AAA agent w/ Disney on the phone. Disney said they are having problems with the website showing false availability :( If I was outside the window for cancellations without penalty, I would have booked in online just to see.

Oh well.

Ed

I called and the new rate is actually higher than what I had booked using the Visa discounts that came out a few weeks ago.

Another poster said they got an e-mail with offers from Visa. I have the same Visa credit card mentioned, and I didn't get an e-mail. I didn't get any notification about the earlier discounts either, I just saw them here. What's up with that? Do all Visa cardholders not get notified?

I can't seem to get the disneyworld website to come up. Is anyone else having problems with this. The screen flickers but then nothing comes up but a blue screen!

$46! Wow! That is a FANTASTIC deal. I hope some day that I get a pin code.

I found this interesting...I tried to call yesterday to see if there were any discounts available for my 11/16-11/18 stay at WL (I posted earlier in this thread) and had a not so helpful castmember. I then called later that day to see if any studios were available at VWL as I saw that there might be good offers on these, but again no luck. However, a very helpful castmember said to keep trying...something might open up. Anyways, I went to the WDW website today and checked out the special offers and found a good deal at the OKW Studios and when I called CRO the castmember who pulled up the reservation said that my room only rate had been booked as a package-that they anticipated that at some point I'd add tickets or dining plan and it was just easier to do it that way. I'm wondering if no discount showed up for WL as this was booked as a package and I was giving the code for r/o. I did switch our reservation to OKW as the savings were good...it's hard to turn down a deal when the total payment is less than what is owed for the previous reservation after deposit has been made. We were headed to OKW for the rest of our stay (11/19-11/23) anyways so this way we're already there.

For the person who got the $46.00 rate at Pop, was it the last code or the one offered last spring which was 40%? I haven't figured out my room only rate which would be easy enough to do by removing the tix and dining. It's almost a sport to play the "code game" which I enjoy doing for friends/family who just call and pay rack rate. They are always amazed that I can usually find some kind of savings for them. Of course this means that my neices/nephews are here from New Orleans quite often since who can pass up a deal? LOL---Kathy
