New Code Discount During Blackout

I have been reading many threads, and noticing many people getting the YQE or YQC discount for 12/4-12/11 and thereabouts. I thought that period was blacked out? How are they getting the discount? I'm supposed to go 12/5-12/12, and I can't get it. How are you/they doing it?

I have tried 3 times to get it since yesterday for Dec 3-10th, I have no luck either.

I had no problems getting a check in on the 9th for someone. Also someone that was there past the 25th. Obviously they don't have to check out by the 25th.

So how come you could get it if there is a blackout during that period? Is it if any of your days are outside the blackout period you can get it? My checkout day is the first day after the blackout (12/12) - should I be able to get it?

I don't know why, but my discount for Dec. 7th thru 13th (with the 7th through the 10th supposedly in the blackout period) was the same discount as for days that were not blacked out. I'm certainly not complaining! Perhaps the blackout only applies to resorts that are booked.

I believe it is based on check-in date. I checked for our stay. We are staying 12/4-12/7. Only deluxe available was Boardwalk Inn under MYW plus dining. As long as your first day checking in is within the discount period, then your entire stay is discounted.

My check in day is on a blackout day, yet I still got the discount.

This is curiouser and curiouser to quote Alice. I was just on the Disney site and got a quote with the discount during my same dates - 12/5-12/12, which is during the so-called blackout, but not for Pop, which is where I am booked. I was able to get a quote for Caribbean Beach with dining for three adults for $2,298, which is only $200 more than I am paying now for Pop preferred room with AAA. I wouldn't need preferred at CBR. My AAA agent hasn't answered my emails for two days, so I assume he is off. I know he works a lot of weekends, so he'll probably answer tomorrow. If he can get me the AAA discount besides the code for CBR I will definitely upgrade. Do you think I should upgrade anyway, for the $200? I was kind of looking forward to staying at Pop, but for three adults CBR would probably be more comfortable. What do you all think?

I would certainly upgrade for the $200. We can do this for POR for about $100 from the Rack Rate of POP we had.
