New Chef at Tchoup Chop!!!!

We have been in shorts and sandals, jeans and polos, and dressed for the evening. I have seen all types of styles there. Whatever you wear, as long as its tasteful its cool.

For the meat eaters, the steaks I have had here have always been good. Several times we have gotten the chef's special pre fixe menu that included filet. Awesome each time. I'm sure the new chef will have some meat on the menu. I anticipate not only original seafood dishes, but more pork as well. Hey, maybe he'll get even more into the polynesian theme and fix up a spam chef's special. Hawaiians love that stuff.

i think that is the national food in hawaii.......

everyone eats it there......except my brother who lives there.

I met the new chef the other night. I know the restaurant is very excited and pleased to have him. He's already infused a couple of his dishes into the new menu and has specials as well. We ate there twice a few weeks ago, and the food and service were top notch. I highly recommend everyone experience it.

Good to know, I can't wait until June to eat there! I do have a question about Tchoup Chop, does anyone here ever just order a few appetizers and desserts instead of a meal? I looked over the menu on Emeril's site and the appetizers look very appealing, almost better than the regular menu, and I just can't afford an appetizer, a meal and dessert for three people (my 15 year old son is going as well).

I would imagine if you wanted to do that you could if you wanted too cause we have at margrittaville with valcanoe nachos when we didn't feel like having a full meal :thumbsup2

The kaluah pork egg rolls look interesting. I still would like to see less seafood and more pork or beef. I really hope he does the mongolian pork that's mentioned in the article!

This is good news for us. Thanks for letting us know. We've tried TC twice & didn't think it was very good either time. Definitely, not up to Emeril's standards, but that's just a personal opinion. We'll have to give it another try, now that's there's a different Head Chef. FWIW, we love Emeril's @ CW.

How cool. I'm so jealous. I really like to meet the chef at restaurants, so I try to sit at the open kitchen counters to watch them cook. I'm really excited to be going there soon. What new stuff was on the menu? Was the food quality different than in the past?

The menu is much more streamlined, and is no longer broken up into sections for the entrees. A couple of Chef Nicholas' signature dishes were taken off the menu like the scallop/plantain app and the bibb lettuce salad. Overall everything has really improved. Their trying to work in some of the specials depending on how well they do. I think a couple of them have already made the menu, including an amazing lomi lomi salmon app. Feel free to ask for the Chef when you are there, they'd be more than happy to meet with you.

More fish!!

Anything new for us carnivors? ;)

They have a new pork dish, beef, duck, and roasted chicken as well. The duck is pretty similar to what I had a few months ago and it's great. They used to source hereford beef and I believe they still do. Hopefully that's enough meat for ya!

Yay! Thank you!

Very, very, very old!! Me and DF went last summer, and I was so looking forward to the Hawaiian plate, and it was no longer on the menu. :sad1: I'd say the newest menu is probably the PDF file on his website...there are even some small differences between it, and what he show's posted on his web page. I think those aren't even totally up-to-date.

We are so looking forward to eating here in August. Does anyone know if they have a kids menu, although our son is 15 he doesn`t like fancy food and is a very plain eater. He loves like plain chicken and noodles or rice. He did eat well at Kobe, but unsure what their menu is like here.:)
