It's time to update/upgrade my cell phone, and I am hoping that people who know more about smart phones than me (pretty much everyone!

We currently have service through Verizon, and we have been happy with our service so far. We wouldn't mind sticking with them. We currently have 4 phones on one plan; two for the parents and two for the children. We now have unlimited text and 500 minutes per phone, per month, and free minutes nights and weekends. The children have been good about just texting friends or calling nights and weekends, so there have been no overages.
I would like to try a touch screen phone with internet service and add apps. Our car has bluetooth and I would also like to be able to put music on my phone. My husband isn't interested in a new phone right now, but if the price is minimal for a second phone and service, we might consider buying two. What types of phones and plans would you suggest? Are there certain brands and features to look for? And what type of pricing would be a good deal for a 4 phone plan with texting and 500 minutes and one internet service plan? The kids could use new phones, too, but they don't need expensive ones. Are there any great deals out there right now? Should we be waiting for a Black Friday deal?
