New CDC guidance Re: testing

Back on topic. A Covid test 1-3 days before my cruise would not be possible. Results take 2-3 days or even longer. I drive from Ohio to Port Canaveral, usually the day before my cruise. So my results could not possibly get back to me before I leave town!

They will email you the results. Additionally it doesn't need to be a PCR test it could be a rapid test which returns results more quickly. Also it could be testing only at the terminal and no pretesting at all.

Right now we have 0 information and really we just have to wait to see what if anything Disney starts requiring.

Except back to your point of sitting out until January there will be questions then as well and changes. Sorry I just reject this idea that waiting until January means there will be zero changes, adjustments, or questions leading up to your cruise. In the end for the foreseeable future anyone cruising should expect changes up until boarding to occur (heck even while on board).
Absolutely, I agree, there still will be changes in January - as there are even in normal times. There still will be questions. But there will be many more answers too.

Now is the wild west. Every week is something new. Even cruise lines are struggling to keep up, cancelling, changing itineraries, changing rules. The hope is that they will get most of the big issues sorted out by the time of the expensive holiday cruises. Which puts us in a much better shape for January.

But there will be many more answers too.

Just pointing out this thread was answered in the last month..... That answer now seems to be wrong as we wait on DCL.

Things will continue to change and the answer from November will then be reworked for January or March or June.

Yup, quite expected - and one of the reasons why we cancelled. You will continue to see a tightening of the rules until the peak of the current wave - which should happen in a few weeks from now. At that point, minus a shutdown, the screening rules should be more or less as tight as they can get.

Where I see more changes are (1) documentation and (2) need for boosters. For (1), more states and countries will have certificates/passports up and running, and the cruise lines will have to work them into their rules. (2), for general population, is a 2022 event.
