New CARS short cartoons ??????

Has anyone else saw these on the Disney channel yet? So far we have caught 2 of them Tow Mater as "Materdore" fighting the bulldozer and one as Evil Knievel. Anyone know what this about ?? Are they going to come out with a cartoon ???? I know that the movie isn't due out until 2010 or something.

I have seen one and it is cute. Matter was a fire truck. It could be a marketing ploy to redevelop interest in all the toys with the big holiday sesaon fast approaching. It certainly has gotten the attention of my 4 yr old.

we saw the one where mater has different jobs, firefighter & doctor during playhouse disney last week. it was pretty cute, i didn't know there were others, so i did a bit of google-ing & found this article....

Animated TV Series Coming in October 2008

A series of shorts called "Cars Toons" will be directed by Academy Award(R)-winner John Lasseter and will appear on the Disney Channel, Toon Disney, and ABC Family beginning Monday, October 27th, 2008.

The new series will star Lightning McQueen's affable friend Mater the Tow Truck, where he plays everything from a doctor to a bull(dozer)-fighter.

We have seen two and DS3 and DD10 loved them both. We saw the one that mater starts out as a Fire Truck and turns into the Dr. and the Matador one. We haven't seen Evil Knievel yet...guess we will be on teh lookout for that one!

We have our Windows Media Center cued up to auto-record them. They are too great!

The Evil Knievel was too funny - of course Lightning did the jump......
