I have seen the commercial and it looks interesting.

Our present car seat uses latch and I find it easy.

This seems to be going back for the seatbelt with no mention of Latch that in like see.

We are in the market for a new car seat as we have a baby on the way. I was wondering if anyone has this one, or has any thoughts on it.

DD4 has the Britax booster seat with this system. We really like it. It makes getting multiple seats in easier than LATCH does. And her seat isn't budging!!

We have a booster for dd4 with this feature. We prefer it to latch. It's easier to move around car seats when you don't have to find latch stuff. And her seat is tight!

Thanks!

Our latch on my daughter's seat isn't bed. Install is a breeze. The design of the seat for accessibility helps. But I still have to put my weight in the seat to tighten it.

Do you still use the metal locking clip or does this eliminate the need for it?
And I'm assuming no putting the weight in the seat to tighten things based on the commercial demo...is that a correct assumption?

Cybex has had that technology for years. We bought the cybex aton Qs for our twins due in a few months. Haven't looked into convertibles yet since they aren't even here, but we are probably going to go with britax, so that is handy they have added that feature.

We just buckle and click the seat back down. No sitting on your child's seat to tighten:)

I love our britax frontier with click tight. So easy! Britax is moving away from latch because of this technology. They even used basic latch connectors on these new convertibles. With new requirements on when to switch from latch to seatbelts has proven to be confusing to most people (since you have to know the weight of the car seat, and the kid are). With this, it makes seatbelt installation so easy.

You open the click tight panel, you pull the seatbelt through the guides and buckling it in, and then pulling the click tight panel down. No locking the belt or anything. Takes very little effort.

Plus, it's longer lasting than the older models in all modes. I would recommend the advocate or boulevard over the marathon because they have higher harness heights.

If following best practices, most kids/seat/car combinations will require a seat belt install at some point before the child is ready for a booster. (I would guess all kids, but I don't know enough about the latch limits for every kid/seat/car combination to know for sure.)

I have a click-tight Frontier (forward facing/booster combination seat). The install is incredibly easy with no locking clip required.

If you do get a click-tight convertible, check the spot where the leg strap connects to the metal anchor. I've heard a couple of reports where it has come off. The strap is supposed to be removable (there is a length adjustment), but it obviously needs to be connected while the seat is in use. I have no idea if this is an actual problem, but it can't hurt to check.

It's when the child and the seat together weigh 60 or 65 lbs (can't remember the exact number right now). The LATCH system is not tested or rated to withstand accidents at a higher weight. I've got a reminder on my phone with the weight my daughter will be at when we need to switch to the seatbelt. I hope other seats come out with the technology in this thread.

I'm in Canada, so our LATCH (UAS in Canada) limits are different. Here, there is no one number that applies for every seat/car. It is the lower of the car's limit and the seat's limit. I'm sure the ISOFIX rules in Europe are also different.

Oooh--good reminder. My 4yo is a featherweight. I need weigh her seat to confirm. But I am pretty sure she is within limits.

Wish I read this earlier as we just relocated today and if was a long long highway drive. Thankfully all is well--but I will investigate.

Raenstoirm--I will check out the Cybex also.

I don't know anything about the cybex convertibles, but the cybex infant seats are the safest on the market based on X, Y Z standards (I don't know exactly what x, y & Z are ). My husband did weeks of research and came up with those as the best so we bought them. Man, they are EXPENSIVE! :faint:

I have click tight in our newer Britax boosters and I LOVE it. That seat is in so tight, it is unbelievable. I do think it is rough on the seat belts where it snaps in though. And it's the heaviest booster ever...but it just feels so safe when it doesn't wiggle an inch.

We love the clicktight install for our Britax harness booster. That thing is in like a rock, and it's done so quickly. We brought it with us to Disney so my son could have his familiar car seat in the rental car, and it really was easy. Well, the install was. Carrying that beast of a seat through the airport wasn't so easy, though! :)
