Wouldn't it be great if they updated the Canada movie...?

My kids will not go the Canada film again. We went once. After walking all day our feet hurt, so we though it would be nice to sit and watch a film. Wrong! no seating and a boring movie. We joke now each time we walk by, that we have to hurry see the "great movie".

I don't mind if they update the movie, but they MUST keep the song at the end!!!!

10 minutes from our honeymoon that we will never get back!!! UG! We took a pic of us in Canada and put that in our photo album with that comment so that we remember NEVER to go in again!

A couple years ago, some Canadian officials were looking into updating the film. But I think they had trouble getting someone to fund it. So it might eventually happen if someone funds it.

BTW, I love the O, Canada song, but it drives my wife nuts. :p

I've never seen it but there was a thread on the Canadian board stating the exact same thing.

In fact there are a lot of Canadians disappointed with the film saying it doesn't show the real Canada. I'll let you know when I go.

This is an ongoing joke for our family. Please no O Canada.

My fiance loves this attraction! He has some sick obsession with Canada and insists on visiting every time we are in Disney. He even knows the words to the song by heart. It really makes me wonder about him sometimes.
:confused3

I'll tell you how dated it is....the first time I ever saw a 360 movie was at Expo 67 in Montreal. I am positive that at least parts, if not all, of the film at Epcot Canada is that original film. I still think it is a good film but really could do with an update.

I just can't watch this movie anymore. It upsets me so much. :( I love Canada but the movie doesn't even come close to providing an accurate description of the country. Some of the stereotypes in the film make me want to scream!!! But I agree.......the song is beautiful! ;)

O, Canada is my favorite movie! We never miss it! In fact, it inspired us to visit Quebec City, in Quebec to stay in the Hotel Frontenac (which is the castle looking hotel in the movie). Unfortunately, our last scheduled day in Canada was Sept 11, 2001. We got to spend an extra three days in this lovely land. The people were outstanding, and I still love that movie. Especially the music. DH loves the movie in France.

I love the movie and song also! I love to sing the entire song, have the music on tape and even have the sheet music! It is a must-do for me every time I visit EPCOT!

It needs to be update so desperately - I'm not even entirely sure that the actors voices are Canadian. This seems like a great opportunity for the Canadian tourism board to promote one of the most beautiful and wonderful countries on the globe! :p

You would think with all of the money spent on promoting tourism that this film would be viewed as the perfect opportunity to do just that. I view it more as a nostalgic look back.

And correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think the current film even shows Niagra Falls.
A new film, in a theatre with seats (like France), is in order.

If you think it's bad, go to the Canada forums and read how bad us Canadians think it is.
This film is so outdated. My wife and I just looked at each other during the film and thought.. here we go..typical sterotyping...we are NOT all Eskimos.
There have been other GREAT movies done recently. One is called Over Canada. It is an IMAX movie which is about 2 years old. If they could put that into the pavillon it would make every Canadian very proud.

Most Canadians find it to be an incredibly dated movie. However, adding seats would add greatly to the experience. After a lot of walking at Epcot I'd be perfectly proud and happy to watch footage of Canadian dentists extracting impacted Canadian teeth, as long as the seats were comfortable and the air conitioning was going full blast. :)

I agree it is time for a film update. But I still like the movie
