We finally got rid of the 5th wheel that both hubby and I totally disliked. Please, no flames, it was just not right for us. He had so many issues trying to park it, trying to back it into the driveway, just way too many things that we did not like. It was a beautiful unit, lots of room and lots of storage, just not what we wanted.
Yesterday we brought home our new little baby. She is a 20 ft. brand new, 2010 KZ Sportmen, It has a queen size bed, full bath, slide out, enough storage for our needs, just what we want. We ordered her the end of February and it has taken this long for the deal to finally go thru.
We spent all of yesterday afternoon loading her, putting on the bike rack, putting some personal touches in place. Now about all we need to do is load some food, and off we go. Her first voyage is on Friday for the long weekend.
We are both far more relaxed towing, the weight issue alone is incredible. We are towing half the weight now, we got it in the driveway the first attempt, no stress, no neighborhood show, the neighbors used to sit outside and watch with the fiver, we should have charged admission for that show, anyway, it is so much easier to handle.
We have lots of short trips planned this summer and a week in Michigan in July for our camping club Campvention.
Now the planning starts for an extended trip in September, 2 weeks, where oh where should we consider going????? Any ideas fellow Disers????
Just wanted to share our good news.

Congrats on the new camper. I can't imagine anybody flaming lol. You have to get what's right for you and it sounds like you have. We need pics to make the thread worthy.

Congratulations on the new TT! I agree with Donnie, we need pics!

Now, as far as where to go in September for 2 weeks...can't help you there. I can't think of any nice campgrounds I'd like to spend an extended period of time at. I would think to spend that much time someplace you'd almost have to be obsessed about the place. And I'm not obsessed. Really. I'm not. So I'm not gonna say it. I won't give you a recommendation. My therapist won't let me.

Oh what the heck....GO TO THE FORT!!!!!:banana::banana:

As far as a place to go for 2 weeks, I have heard of a place in Florida, that comes highly recommended. At least fiends recommend it. Call the FORT, call them now and get those ressies made! By the way we do need pics...

Congrats on your new camper, :thumbsup2,,it sounds like ya'll will be very happy with it.
Course it's just my opinion, but the most important thing about having a camper is being comfortable with all aspects of it,,the towing, the maneuverability, the floor plan, etc,,,just ALL that has to do with being comfortable with it,,as long as it fits YOU,:thumbsup2

Happy camping ya'll !

oh, and of course you always havta make sure the fishing equipment will fit nicely in the new camper,:woohoo:

Congrats on the new TT :thumbsup2. The only thing better about a new TT in the driveway is pulling it back out and and hitting the road (preferably to the Fort!).

Congrats on the new baby :) but I bet the neighborhood is sad to see the fifthwheeler go popcorn::

uou got to LOVE:love: your trailer or you take the fun out of it!!!!! :thumbsup2

No flames from me, either! I love our little trailer...and I love it even more in the Fort! I second (third, fourth) other recommendations on a FL destination.
