NEW California-Florida Premier Passport

See this is what I do not understand. When I see people complain about the no DVC discount I think that they would rather spend an extra $200.00 to get a DVC discount to get the same entitlements as a Premier Pass. What am I missing? Like I have said, I believe the DVC discount is already built into the price as it seems DVC members just may be the target audeance for this pass.
If a DVC Member pays the exact same price for a Premier Pass as a non DVC Member, than there is no DVC discount. It is not built into the pass just because the Premier is cheaper than two separate passes.

If I buy two new cars at the dealership and they give me a price break for buying two, does that mean the dealership gave me a DVC discount?

We are just going to have to agree to disagree. I rather pay full price for a Premier pass than a DVC PAP to WDW and a DVC PAP to DL. At it's already discounted rate I am a firm beliver that it is discounted enough.

I agree that I would rather purchase the Premier pass vs two individual annual passes.

That said, it is not an opinion.. It is fact ---> There is no DVC discount for a Premier Pass.

Just to make sure I remember everything correctly, I could buy a two day Disneyland pass. And before I leave the 2nd day I could upgrade to the Premier Pass? Where would I do this at DL? Thanks!

Just go to the AP center in either park.

Anyone have any experience with buying the Premier AP at the International Gate at Epcot? We are staying at BWV and want to upgrade our DL AP to the Premier so we can have dinner at Epcot on our arrival night. -- Suzanne

Can't help here. I am just happy this is the only pass that did not have a raise in price. Now I have hope when I need to renew mine in Jan it still maybe only 700

I got mine at Epcot and was directed specifically to the Guest Services booth, which is way off to the side from the regular ticket booths (closer to the bus pick-up area). If there is a Guest Services booth or window at the International Gate, then you should have no problem.

We have DL Premium AP's with DVC discount, it expires in July and on monthly payment. We have a 12 day trip planned for Disneyworld this Christmas with the DDP. I have several questions:

Is there a benefit for me to upgrade to the Premier Pass now rather than wait in December?

Will we be able to continue on the monthly payment option?

I saw somewhere that you can get a discount on DDP if you and the Premier Passport, does this apply to a DVC stay?

What ends up cheaper: DDP or TIW?

Thanks all!

As far as I know there is no monthly payment plan for the Premier Pass. As to is it a great deal. Yes!!!!!! I don't even care that there is no DVC discount because if I were to do what you are planing, it would cost way more than 12 days worth of admission to WDW or a AP there plus my AP at DL. For two years I had a WDW PAP with DVC discount and a DL PAP with renewal discount ( Sane discount as DVC) and I am saving over 200 by buying a Premier since it is the only ticket that has not gone up in price. When it comes to DDP or TIW we go with TIW. We did the math and for our dinning and drinking habits it is a little less than the DDP.

I've been debating getting a Premier Pass for next year and right now I'm leaning against it. But that not because its too expensive. It just may not be the best fit for us given the vacations that we've got coming up. In June 2011we are going to VGC for 5 nights and (maybe 6), then in August 2011 its a 4 night DCL and then 3 nights are so at WDW. And then in 2012 at least one trip back to WDW. If I got the Premier Pass for the DL trip in June 2011, then I'd have to be sure to to take a second WDW trip by the time in June 2012 before it expires. I'm leaning toward just getting WDW AP and buying some 4 day PHs for DL. Still unsure what to do but I've got plenty of time to decide.

You should be able to continue with your monthly payment on your DL AP and just pay the balance for the Premier. You can do this upgrade at either DL or WDW, but I recently read that you cannot do it at the Internatonal Gateway to Epcot. We arrive in the late afternoon and planned to walk from BWV to Epcot for dinner, but now I know that we need to first go to the front entrance of a park. It may be easier just to upgrade at DL before we head to WDW!

The only disadvantage to upgrading to the Premier early (other than have the money OOP sooner), is that the DL system doesn't do well recognizing the Premier Pass. With no picture on it, passholders have reported having to show ID as well as the pass at the parking garage, In addition, the account number is longer than on a DL AP, so it needs to be entered manually or overridden for any discount.

Enjoy -- Suzanne

Thank you!

Another question. We typically bought our Disneyworld tickets when we check in, can we just upgrade to the Premier Pass when we check in and get the TIW if we go in that direction?

I really just want to delay or prolong the payment process. I also read that there are additional "unnamed perks" available only to PAP holders. If you know what they are, could you please tell me. This would be the only incentive for me change to PAP now.

I also thought I read in a previous post that there is no prorating the cost of upgrading from one pass to PAP?

Thanks again.

As far as I know you can not buy AP of anytype at the resorts. You would have to go to one of the parks or guest services in DTD. As far as TIW is concerned, you have to go to Guest Services outside all of the main enterance or again the one at DTD to buy. You can also buy you pass at Guest Services so I would just do it all there. As far as hidden perks, if they are there, they are vey well hidden. As to the DL system. Yes people here at DL still need training. When I gave my pass to the CM for my food discount, he asked me " I need the ticket that you used to enter the park today". I told him that was it and it was the equivalent of a Premimum pass. He gave me the club 33 discount which is the same discount as I should be getting. When I bought two pins, it was not an issue. Yes I had to show my ID to get my parking. On Miceage.com Tuesday, it was reported that the same tunstiles that WDW had with the biometric reader will be coming to DL right after the new year. So that could help explain the no picture.

Thanks so much aan1709! We'll get the PAP at DL sometime before December. The only thing I need to figure out is if we're going with TIW since the 24th and 25th, which would be our most expensive eating days, does not allow the use of TIW. I may just stick with the dining plan so I can focus on more fun things like actual things to do when we're there. I've got bigger problems - how to get santa gifts to the resort! Any suggestions highly appreciated!

You can ship a box directly to the resort addressed to yourself with arrival date. Keep in mind that during December due to volume, it takes longer to ship items from one end of the country to the other, so allow extra time. Now getting the santa gifts home is another story, perhaps bring an extra suitcase?

DLR still does not have the bugs worked out. They have to manually type in the discount once they figure it out. I try to explain it to them, but they end up calling a supervisor anyway.

Long time AP at DLR, now Premier at WDW for my 1st DVC trip in October. Hope the Premier works out well at WDW! First time!
