Has anybody seen/heard about the new Disney (annual) Passport for Disneyland and Disneyworld COMBINED?

What have you heard? Will there be DVC discounts for the pass like the annual passes at both parks?

I will be checking in at the Grand at Disneyland tomorrow and I will check it out. Just wondering if anyone had looked into this yet.

If you plan on going to Disney World twice and are already regular Disneyland passholders this could be a REALLY good deal (with a DVC discount that is). $700/pass is steep without a discount though in my book.

No DVC discount. :sad1: We don't go to WDW often enough to be worth it for us so we'll stick with our DLR AP.

That is a big enough discount for me. I personally don't need anything extra on top of it.

Remember, it's the equivalent of the Premium passes for both parks. So you get all the waterparks etc at WDW, and you get the lovely discounts on food and merchandise at DLR.

We are happy with the discounts, too and plan on buying the premier passport since we have multiple trips planned this year. I do like saving money, so it seems like this will be the best way for us to buy:

Purchase Water Park Fun & More (Fun Visits) (10 day) - No Expiration for $503 from Undercover Tourist, saving $33. Using the ticket for one day, then upgrading to a WDW Premium Annual Pass using our $100 DVC discount($519 with the DVC discount). That saves us $133. Some time before we leave WDW we will upgrade to the Premier Passport. The only question I have is if they use the full price of the WDW Premium Annual Pass or if they use the DVC discounted price. If they use the discounted price, it doesn't make any sense to do the second step, we'll just upgrade to the Premier right away with our UT tickets.

I've had mine for a few months, we were people who already had APs in both WDW and Disneyland, so they automatically gave us the premiere pass. I haven't used it at WDW yet, but at Disneyland the employees are not always sure what to do with it and I've waited while they call their lead. I've learned to keep my license out since they have asked me numerous times to show them a photo I.D. Also, when you buy something and want the discount, the cards do not swipe for some reason, but if they punch the numbers from your card into the register, the discount shows up. For me right now, it is a bit frustrating, but I'm hoping they get the bugs worked out fairly soon.

I've used it at both parks. It was developed at WDW and they have not tweaked DLR system to accept the cards readily. Since I'm a DLR regular, I've just gotten use to have my ID out, usually tell the CM that they may have to get a manager. It's worth the discounts and remember if there aren't too many of these cards around. Even the CMs at WDW in May were unfamiliar with them, so it's not just DLR CMs. I had to show my picture ID in WDW DTD World of Disney also AND several CMs just didn't know what they were.

Just a FYI. The 700 price tag is a bargin. If you had no discounts what so ever it would save you over 300 bucks. It will save me about 180 bucks if I factor in the DVC renewal price at WDW and the 20 buck renewal discount at DL. Remember you are getting a Premium pass at both resorts all in one ticket. I was a lucky person and grandfathered into the program. If this pass goes up by the time I need to renew, that would be in Jan 2011, I would still get it. It is a bargain and I don't care that there is no DVC discount. It is already in my mind discount enough.

Does anyone know the answer to this.. I was grandfathered in and do have one of these passes.. We live in Arizona so we may trips to both places this year although the CA trips are a bitt iffy this year due to proposed shortened fall break.
My kids and I will be at WDW next week. If I buy them a WDW premium pass w/ a DVC discount... can this be upgraded to the 2 PARK pass whne/if we go to CA??

We upgraded our WDW APs to the Premier pass last May. They just take the difference in price that you paid vs the price of the new pass. This wipes out the DVC discount savings.

Almost forgot..
The expiration for the new pass will be the date of the first pass purchased, so there is no benefit to doing as you suggest. I would just buy the Premier right off the rip.

Ok- now, I'm still confused... Maybe I'm looking at something wrong but I can see a benefit of waiting if the Ca trip is iffy right now..

This is how I'm looking at things..

Buy WDW premium pass w/ DVC discount next week at approx 526.00 pp

IF go to DL in Oct- upgrade to PREMIER ( 2 coast pass) for 700.00 pp

Savings approx 175.00 per person if we do not do CA in Oct.
If we do go to CA in Oct and decided to upgrade, it is still a savings since Annual passes run at DL from 299-439.00 pp

This wipes out the DVC discount savings.

I respectfully disagree with this, as the price of the pass in my opinion has the discount already built in. I don't think you are losing anything and in the long run saving money as you will end up still saving over $200.00.

I really wish they would get the bugs in Disneyland fixed. When we went in March it was a hastle... at that time they didn't even work to get in so we had to get "tickets" at guest services to use for our stay.. Sad to hear people are still in June almost July experiencing these same issues.. Guess it's not priority.

Let's say you paid $400 for your AP (with DVC discount) for a pass that costs $500.
Now you trade that pass in for a Premier that costs $700.

You would get credit for the $400 from the old pass, plus pay an additional $300.
Your total outlay is $700, which is the exact same amount that a non DVC Member would pay.

I rounded the numbers, but that's exactly what we did this past May.

The Premier worked perfectly for us in May at DLR..

Did they send you the upgraded passes or did you buy them at the park? I should have clarified those who were issued the cards from Disney as part of the upgrade are fine but those of us who purchased on site in Disneyland were having issues. I hope this is true the kinks are fixed! As it totally upset my husband as he said it was embarrassing..

Yup... That may be why ours worked. We upgraded them at WDW, than headed to DLR.

Since we are dealing with two premium annual passes those were the only numbers I crunched. So a non DVC PAP is just over 600 with tax and a DL PAP is 349. Now if I look at the discounted price of a WDW PAP that is about 550 and a DL is 329. So 550+329 is 879. Looks like I save 179 before tax with a Premier Pass.

Has anyone done the math on how many days you need to go to the parks to make this worth buying this instead of park hopper tickets?

Well, you will save money buying the Premier pass over two individual passes, but my point is that the DVC discount is lost in the upgrade transaction.
