Alright.....I have to ask this....

Well, say this, and then ask....

A little history.

My DW and I did the DVC tour back in Dec 07.
Our guide was very nice and never pressured us (what I liked about the whole thing)
Since then, I have been crunching #'s and researching constantly. :surfweb:

Way back then I phoned her and left a message that I would like to hear more about past performance and dues increases and wondered if she could fill me in on any info.
Help me decide by informing me, so to speak.
She could have told me about the 3-4% increase in dues average per year, etc etc (ALL FOUND THANKS TO THE DIS!!!! :disrocks: )
I told her we were leaving in 2 days, and, if she could get back to us with an answer before then we would appreciate it.
Left our room # and resort (which she knew) and if not, here was our home phone # etc, etc.
All this info on our paperwork needless to say.

That was the end of our contact........nothing........:confused3

Now......here it is almost 9 mos later and I feel we are ready....regardless of our guide.

Quite frankly...WE do not wish to deal with her again.
And trust me, I have searched her name and she seems quite popular.
But sorry...No effort...NO GAIN!

I have read that once you are in their system, THATS your guide!
Can we phone DVC and buy without having to deal with her?
Salespeople phone me, I dont phone them!! (Anyone not on a "Do not call" list can relate!!)
I know it was low pressure, but really, I phoned HER for info.
If I wish to buy your product and phone you, BE NICE, call me back if I leave a message.

OK..my question...

Do we have to deal with the same guide if I was to phone tomorrow??
We just dont think she deserves any commission on this.

Am I being too picky??? :confused3

Or just say "HEY! whatever!"
Just go ahead and buy, get in the system, and probably never hear from her again until add-on time???
Probably about the same time BLT is announced!

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

You can request a different Guide by calling and asking to speak to a Manager.

before we decided, we spoke with 2 guides, and there names were both on the paperwork.

I also wanted to let you know that there are some states that do not allow timeshare solicitation calls (even if you instigate it). So you might want to double-check and make sure you don't reside in one of them. Also, I received a letter a few months ago asking me to go onto a website (it was something like dvcyes.com?) and change my contact preferences so my guide could call me. I believe this is because we are on the Do-Not-Call registry that you mentioned in your earlier post.

Thanks for all the info!
We live just outside of Toronto Ontario so I dont think the laws for calling apply.
I just got the feeling she considered us a no-go at the time, kept talking about financing even though we told her it would not be necessary.
Could have been the ratty shorts, Harley T-shirt and scruffy beard I showed up in :lmao:
I was on vacation after all...
Anyway thank you all once again and I will see what can be done.

I have a terrific guide. If I had any question he always called back in 24 hrs. He always answered every question and explained every thing I didn't understand.

I have heard before that DVC guides also cannot call outside of the U.S. Since you say she has an excellent reputation, I would check it out further with DVC before making a complaint against her. Might have been through no fault of her own...

You should have a guide you are comfortable with. If that isn't this person, ask for someone else.

We originally contracted for 200 points...

In searching Dis Folks, many made the suggestion for ease of re-sell in future, 1 master contract of 100 and 1 add on of 100 would be an easier product to re-sell instead of 200..Also, have 2 DS's...eventually, easy..1 will get 100 and other will be the other 100...

Guide was very good, BUT HAD TO LEARN ABOUT THE ADVANTAGE OF SPLITTING UP 200 INTO TWO 100'S FROM THIS BOARD!

That doesn't sit so well with me.....Anyway, for add-on's, am I obligated to go through the guide?

Thanks..Not thinking about add on now, but later on, the possibility could exist....:goodvibes

Buy resale next time.

Was going to post on here, but after typing it up decided on a new thread.
It had to do with why I wished to change my guide (3 - 100 pt contracts and not wanting to deal with her as stated above), but soon got to the point of being OT and not really guide related.
So, I changed it and started a new thread.
I have not found out if DVC can contact us in Ontario yet but will do that tomorrow....Mr Tom Morrow...Mr Tom Morrow........Sorry.
Anyway, it gets into this whole BLT thing and buying thru Disney or resale.

I hope it was only that she could not phone Canada,...but...if not...Bye Bye 300 points sale Mrs. Guide.

Check it out...
