I had a difficult enough time convincing DH that sausage & eggs with characters was worth $14 each; now at $16-$20, it'll never happen.

I guess we'll have breakfast in the room or at some off-site restaurant, and find the characters in the parks on our next trip.

When doing WDW on a budget (as we always are), it just doesn't make sense to spend nearly $60 on breakfast. Plus, if I did splurge & spend that, and felt "rushed" as so many have stated they did, I would be really ticked off!

I agree MouseLover. It's amazing what they can charge for breakfast, but as long as people will pay it . . .

When we're on a budget, breakfast is the easiest meal to skip. We drive, so we stop at a grocery store and get fruit, bagels, pop-tarts, etc., juice in the cooler, etc.

We might try Trails End Buffeteria this year, as suggested on another thread--much more reasonably priced.

Also Disney Club members get 20% off at the Swan and Dolphin restaurants, and they have breakfast buffets there.

I'm totally with you on the fact that the price increases are the pits!!!

But unfortunately, I've already promised DD's that they are having breakfast with the princesses so I cannot cancel the $20 per adult PSB. Boy did this throw a zinger into my food budget for our upcoming trip. The sad thing is this breakfast doesn't even have anything special at it foodwise.

I'm not even gonna mention to DH that the price went up. Don't want to get him going...

Wow, the character buffet prices are getting outrageous!

WDW is going to out price a family being able to eat at these buffets.

Lets' face it you go to more than 1 buffet during your visit.

The price of the character breakfast might be easier to handle if you check out the price of breakfast at the best hotels in your area. Disney isn't the only company that must be serving "golden" eggs with the hash browns!

I agree, I thought they were expensive before. Fortunately, we have the DDE card so at least that gives us a discount but I will be selective chosing maybe 1 or 2 breakfasts and that's it. I mean, dd doesn't even barely eat anything at breakfast, we're just there for the characters. $7.99 is a hefty price to pay for a bagel and cream cheese, sheesh!

Yeah--it's pretty darn pricey, but the look on those kids faces! I'm a sucker--I admit it! When we left our very first char meal when DD was three, my Dh said, "I can't believe I just spent $50 on breakfast and it wasn't even that good!" I pointed out though that the little one's face had been priceless--she was totally in awe. Yeah, he agreed.

This time we are doing 3 char meals--we might be crazy--but we luck out because both of the boys are still under three! Next time it will be one max.

I'd rather do a character lunch than breakfast. Garden Grill has gone to tiered pricing, so lunch is $19.99. Tony's lunch with Pooh is less. I feel like it's a better value, and when we do that we don't want a big supper. We b-fast in our room, have a big lunch, then keep dinner light or have a snack because we're not hungry.

Another way to get around the price increase is Connections vouchers. I bought mine when I read the prices went up, so we're paying $17.50 inc. tax and gratuity for CRT and ESP. That's still an expensive breakfast, but it's saving a few dollars.

I definately wouldn't do it if I were only going for the eggs. We do do character meals (usually one per trip) because I think the price is worth the food PLUS atmosphere and characters.
