I have read on another board that Disney is in the planning stages for another Budget Resort, this one to be priced lower than the current ones.

Working from the current Disney Armed Forces Salute program, it will be based on the concept of a military barracks.

Like a Hostel?

Speaking of Hostel, did you see the movie where the kids would go missing and end up being used for torture? I can't help but visualize a WDW version of the Hostel. Except, your friends would go missing and you would eventually find them dancing in IASW. :rotfl2:

Wonder if they're referring to Flamingo Crossings? There's going to be a new Downtown Disney like area going in near the Western Beltway. From what I remember, the hotels/motels are going to privately owned (like Holiday Inn Express, Econolodge) and will lease the land from WDW.

None of this is going too well is it? (As in maybe it will go away).

Way too funny!

Not a bad idea, modern military barracks rival most hotels. They are nothing at all like the movies. Each room has it's own facilities. More than likely each room will be smaller than a value.

I haven't heard anything lately about Flamingo Crossings. Disney announced it in March 2007, almost two years ago. They have started construction on the Four Seasons Resort near Fort Wilderness.

I drove by that 4 Seasons site a couple of weeks ago and I'm convinced they're just moving piles of dirt around and not actually building anything. It looked exactly the same as it did in November.

And the same for Flamingo Crossings, just a bunch of flat dirt...
