It's a nice blog -- but I think that Imagineer led you astray. Twilight Zone has most certainly aired in Japan -- it was called "Mystery Zone" there, and I believe it's still on late at night.

My understanding is that they didn't go with the Twilight Zone theme because of the rights issues involved.
