new blog: Festival of the Lion King reopens at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

So, a FP+ gives you a 30 minute wait? Sounds like a waste, especially if you go at slower times (like we do) when the shows don't "sell out." I'd rather stroll in 5 minutes before show time and get sub-prime seats than wait an extra 30 minutes for prime seats, but everyone is different.

Speaking of that...for those who have been, how is the theatre space compared to the old one? Bigger, nicer, or about the same?

I'm so happy to hear the show itself hasn't changed. If I recall correctly, there was some speculation that there were going to be changes that were unpopular.

Your fastpass times are 9:30 to 9:50 when I booked so you don't have to show up at 9:30 if you don't want to wait. It's up to you.

We are like this too. We paid for the Fantasmic Dinner package this year so we could ride AND have seats waiting for us. Unfortunately due to TSMM being about 80 min wait even at 7:30, we got out at 8:40 and I raaaaann all the way to Fantasmic at 8:50 and said three more were coming behind me. They wanted us to get there at 8:30, but whats the point of that? Anyway if I hadn't ran, the others would not have gotten in. It took me jumping up and down and waving come on!!! like a manian for minutes before the CMs would finally let them in, even WITH they vouchers...? We had to ride TSMM and stupid tier made us choose so we had to ride that stand by so we almost missed our Fantasmic VIP and there were plenty of seats in our area so I don't know why the CMs were like that, making them go along the back when the VIP seats are Scar and Mickey? Thankfully the dinner was unbelievably 5 star to us so the Fantasmic vouchers were just the icing on the cake, but at $57 pp, I wasn't about to give up the show! No idea why they want you there so early, the whole idea is for them to save your seat, whether its FP or a voucher you pay for....?

We missed by 1 day this trip, but are heading back in September and can't wait to see it. It looks like a perfect venue for a great show! Thanks for sharing! :goodvibes

So is that all the merchandise they have or is there more to the store?

We will only be there after 3 and trying to plan most efficient touring.
What is the time duration for the show? Is it an hour, 30 minutes.
I can't find it anywhere.

I believe it's 20-30 minutes (I'm sure someone can respond with the exact time frame.) I just wanted to note... we had a similar plan for our AK day. We were going to go from 3-park closing (7:00.) However, if you're going on a Saturday in the summer, the last Lion King show will be at 4:00 due to Harambe Nights. This changed our whole plan, so I wanted to be sure to let you know!

Thanks for the heads up - we are going on Thursday 7/11; do they ever cancel due to weather (I know it's indoors, but wasn't sure).

Not that I've ever heard, since (like you said,) it's indoors. The theatre will fill up much more quickly if it's raining, though ;) Although, I'm not sure how FP+ would affect that.

Excited to see this show, am I right in thinking the building in air conditioned? And the Finding nemo is outdoors, correct?
