Count me in. I have a 2000 Vapor (it's light blue). Only 2000 were made, so I don't many like it. I just love it. It's good in snow, but not so good in ice (turning) because it's so light. The abs is great though. I am just careful, and I've never had a problem. The trunk is small, not really a family car. Now that I have a granddaughter, I am realizing that. The stroller does not fit in the trunk, and the car seat only fits in the back seat if the front seat is all the way up. But, I'll still keep it. It's just so darn cute!!!

I have only seen one vapor blue in town and it lives near my house. It is soooo pretty. i actually think that the trunk is bigger than it seems. i fit all of my packages from under the tree at christmas in the trunk and i have a very big family. we're taking it with us to orlando in march so we'll just have to see how that pans out.

what color? I love the colors on the convertibles mellow yellow, aquarius blue and what is the beige one? harvest moon i think?

boring, but i like it: platinum gray. i wanted to get aquarius blue but they weren't getting any in til the '05's came in in my area and i didn't want to wait. plus, this one is fully loaded and i was able to get a good deal on it since it had apparently been on their lot for awhile. i guess most people who want beetles wants brighter colors. i really like the orange one too.

yeah i agree on that. the convertible trunk is even smaller than the regular nb trunk and i have been able to fit so much more than i thought i would be able to in there. if i pack it right, i can usually even fit all my groceries in the trunk, eventhough it's only supposed to fit 2 golfbags.

I almost bought a platinum gray. I was looking to get a used one but I didn't like the spoiler that was on it. Then I realized that it really wasnt' going to be any more to get a new one because of the interest rate. So I had to decide on Sunflower Yellow or Sundown Orange. My DH really wanted me to get the orange one, and I really liked it too but the interior was a cream beige color and I like to take my little dog with me a lot and I could just see him ruining it and the yellow had black interior which i thought looked great. they had an orage w/ black interior but it was a turbo and i didn't want to spend that much $$$.

A word on space in the car. I helped my mom with moving recently, and headed over to her place with the NB. She thought I'd be bringing the Jeep...was disappointed that I "wouldn't get too much" in the Beetle.

I loaded my car up with 6 suitcases, four liquor store boxes and some pots and pans and there was still room for the two of us!

DH and I travel with our two kids everywhere with the Beetle. I got Moshi (microbead) pillows for the boys for the backseat so they could nap...the only thing I'd change is that I will buy some soft sided luggage in the future. It'll work better in the trunk. Learned that by picking up friends from the airport recently!

I have suggested to my DS that his New Beetle club take a road trip to WDW and stay at AS in the Herbie building. Some members were interested. The club has gone to the Roswell New Beetle show in June before. This show usually has between 200 and 300 cars. We picked up our car(Mojave) in May 2001 and drove it to Fl. over the next 2 days. I've had mine almost 4 years and have 80,000 miles on it.
DS's car is named Doombuggy(not after HM ride vehicles)

I'll join I bought my DD16 a 2001 black beetle. It's adorable and she loves it. So much so that I never get to drive it.

Can I come live with you? Lmao,jk. I want to get a black beetle so I can call it a doom buggy. and then I can get those HM license plate covers they have at WDW. XD

2 new Beetles live at our house.
My oldest DD has a green one (she says it's Tinkerbell green) and my DH has a red one that I have been driving recently. Both have sunroofs.
We have to have one vehicle that will hold my youngest DD's wheelchair, so I have a van.

I have a 2001 yellow Beetle. Named her Sunni. I bought it with the intention of passing it down to DD. However, DD is intimidated by the stick-shift. That's okay with me. It means I may get to keep it longer for myself.
