New Beast at BOG?!!

During yesterday's episode of the News on DIS Unplugged, Cathy mentioned that the Beast meet and greet at BOG restaurant would be the live action version of the Beast. Can anyone confirm this? I've searched to no avail to confirm. Though I would really be happy either way, my daughter finds him to be very frightening. She is pretty excited to meet the animated version of the Beast, but I will take an extreme amount of convincing to get her to visit with the live action version...

Wow! I didn't hear about that. I'm 16 and I also find the live action beast pretty frightening... . I do know what the changed the look of the beast a while ago. He looks smaller and A LOT nicer. He looks like he is smiling. So, that's a plus! I'll keep a look out for rumors.

There was a post a few weeks back and someone posted a pic of the new Beast.
I personally do not like the look of him and I showed it to my kids- they said he had "crazy eyes" and that he looked scary! He looks more lean too.
I think the new Beast can sign autographs though?

My guess is that all it will take is about 100 kids melting down in fear of the new one for the old one to come back. Sigh Disney, I know the movie is super hot right now but let's keep the park more classic?

yeah but scaring the children actually takes more time because parents will be cajoling kids to get that picture because dammit we got BoG dinner to get pictures with the beast and the kids will be fighting it. It won't go well. My son loves the classic cuddly characters but will probably not go for a beast that is more like a heavily made-up face character.

That is a good point. I just don't understand the logic behind this. Why would you want to scare the little ones? The parks are about soft , round edges to me. Not scary things. I bet the talking Mickey catches some kids of guard!

I don't think they are trying to scare kids. I think some ADULTS said "WOW we made $350B opening weekend. CLEARLY this Beast is an upgrade from plush beast. Let's have him at BoG." meanwhile the five year olds are going to be "NOOOOOONOOOONOOOO I DON'T WANT TO TAKE A PICTURE WITH HIM!"

Does anyone have a photo? I've seen the "new" beast that Kenny The Pirate posted about in 2016 but it had not reached Be Our Guest yet. He is still the plush version just a little updated for better manufacturing.

Ah yeah that isn't the movie beast at all so I don't expect this Beast to change back. The choice for this change was made back in 2016 and just now made it to the parks for the meet and greet.

I think the flash reflection is enhancing the crazy eyes look. This is still a kind of soft and cuddly beast. The movie beast not so much. So is this the new beast and there will be a NEW NEW beast or is this the new new beast? i'm so confused.

so cuddly but crazy. like me. I agree I preferred the previous beast, who looked massive in the photos (never saw him in person). But I'm fine with either one, not that picky. Hoping to finally try BoG on our next trip.

He was HUGE! We saw him a few times when he was still in Epcot.
Biggest kick I got at BOG was one evening DH and I were eating and the Beast walked through going to his Library. He came up behind a lady at the table next to us and just peered over her shoulder. Scared her to death. She screamed so loud. And then she laughed

I inquired of someone "local" to him. It is NOT the Beast in the movie. It is just a new Beast costume.

And as you say better manufactured ....
