With a new table service rest. coming to the magic kingdom, wha are your expectations? Character meal or not? Buffet or family style? And when can I start booking adrs...lol

I want it to be a character meal for sure. Buffets are ok, that part doesn't matter. Would love a good steak place, most certainly don't want a 2 TS meal though. CRT already covers that.

I've already read that it will be cs during the day and TS for dinner so I'm sure it will be a 1credit place. Beauty and the Beast has been my almost 19yr old DD's favorite since she was 2 so my family cannot wait for this new area!

whats the specs so far???where will it be?? Is the name "Be our Guest"?
If it were, it would be fun to meet the cast from Beauty & the Beast.

From what I understand they haven't even built it yet, so it's way too early to start talking about making ADRs.

It's just speculation but I tend to think it will NOT be a character restaurant as MK has proportionally too many of those already - and just ended one.

In the presentation made at D23, they said there would be a Beast's Castle restaurant (probably TS) and Gaston's (CS) where "he used antlers in all of his decorating." ;) Since they noted 2 different restaurants, my guess is that the Beast's Castle would be a character meal. Or, if it wasn't, at least an above and beyond meal - maybe with dancing plates and flatware? :rotfl:

I hope it's not a buffet. I envision it as some sort of dinner show, maybe with audio-animatronics instead of actual characters. I think that would be so cool. Either way, I am really looking forward to seeing what it is and hopefully taking DD.

I think that the Magic Kingdom could use a good TS restaurant. Except for the castle which you can never get into and Tony's which has gone down hill there is no nice restaurant to eat in. We never eat sit down for lunch or dinner anymore in the magic kingdom. I also think they have enough character meals. Just my opinion........

I personally do not want to see another character meal. I would not mind a themed restaurant without characters, (like Animator's Palate on DCL), but I would like to enjoy a GOOD meal in the Magic Kingdom without character interruption.

I think it will definitely be character. Why else a beauty and the beast theme. Either way it would be nice for MK to get a new restaurant. There are not enough table service places to eat there.

I think a villain theme would reach more people and seems more current. Beauty and the Beast, while a great movie, has been out quite a while and to me, is more limited in it's audience. My kids are now 10 &7 and we're all done with B & the B. Since they're making another Pirates movie, it would be great it the restaurant was 'piratey'!

That is exactly what came to mind for me as well, and looking at the concept art, it looks to me like a heavily themed dining area of that caliber. I too hope it is a non-character meal, because another Princess meal would be redundant with CRT just steps away (and besides, ANOTHER princess meal is the last thing WDW needs) and no other characters would really fit.

This is my dream as well.

Originally, the restaurant was rumored to have it's own little show.. like a Beauty and the Beast themed Chuck E Cheese with animatronics and dancing dishes, etc which sounds really neat. Making it a character meal will be too much going on, in my opinion. There are already two buffets in MK, so I think a sit-down would be perfect.

I'm all for a sit-down BATB themed restaurant with a little show (kinda like Biergarten has entertainment part of the time)... but nothing over the top like a full fledged dinner show. Keep it a 1 TS meal. Dancing dishes sounds cute... appropriate for a restaurant too!

I'm just not so sure I agree with it being like "Chuck E Cheese" ...sounds just a little too cheesy to me...

OOh this is exciting! I hope it's not a character meal. I'll be ok with it if it is, but I prefer it not to be. Love Beauty and the Beast so I think the theme is great!

The theming of the area seems like the traditional European fairy tales (ie: Grimms' Brothers, Germany's Black Forest, Snow White type - yes, I know it doesn't include her, I mean the background setting).

The concept art for "Be Our Guest" looks like a nice, upscale TS restaurant, as some PP's mentioned, perhaps like Artist's Palette, although I wouldn't care for color changes from black and white to color. If they have dancing plates, etc. I can see an animatronic Lumiere, he was in the concept art picture. Maybe Remy at Chefs de France was a trial for that type of character interaction in a themed restaurant. This could easily be the best restaurant in the MK if they do it right.

I would like to see it be a lovely sit down, server restaurant, not a buffet nor a "family style" like O'Hana, nor a character meal. They already have enough of those at the MK. And the only other TS, Tony's just isn't up to par.

The Gaston's pub CS doesn't say anything about alcohol (which some have speculated) - it shows families. I doubt they are going to change the no alcohol policy in MK. But the theming is just like Gaston's tavern in the movie.

When everything was still in the rumor stage, it was said that Gaston's would serve root beer and have mooseheads and whatnot as decor.
