New Balance running skirt

OK, stupid question. If you wear the running skirt and it's cold outside in the morning for the Disney races and you want to bring some sweatpants to toss, how do you put them on over the skirt?! Sounds like a lot of wadded material under sweats OR a trip to a dark nasty portapotty to change... Of course, that's presuming we even need throw away clothes.

It is a really cute skirt, though!

My thought on that Jen is to get a very inexpensive brand of leggings or tights and pull them on with the shorts under and the skirt over so before the race starts, you could peel them off and toss them. Sweats would be the same. I am headed to the gym later for TM time (too much snow to run outside) and I will pull a pair of yoga pants on and just roll the waist down and pull the skirt over. My legs very rarely get cold, just my top so I tend to layer the top and tough it out in shorts. It would have to be under 40 degrees for me to justify wearing running pants instead of shorts/skirt.

I have to say though that I love this skirt. I bought the Bonita and an Adrenaline skirt which was on clearance. The Bonita has slits in the sides and the Adrenaline does not. The Adrenaline bunches between my thighs and I have to keep messing with it. The skirt, not the shorts underneath, they are great.

D'Oh! That makes perfect sense- I was forgetting the skirt is just attached at the top. Now I need to re-think my marathon wardrobe and check out skirts again!

I LOVE MY SKIRT!
Not a NB but the Marathon Girl from skirt sports... I wore it for the Charlotte marathon. It was hi 40s at the start so I had on a very cool pair of Charlotte Hornets sweats (from back in the day) on over them. Just tore them off b/4 the race and was fine.
Here is a link to my Blog to see it in the marathon and scroll down to see it in a 5k. I wear it instead of my shorts for all my warm runs...no rubbing. I found out I did not get chub rub from my chub....but my shorts rub my legs...no problem with the skirt.

Christa: I have to say I am a convert to the skirt! I am not much in the girly girl way but I really like that I am covered with the compression shorts underneath for comfort. As I said, I have the NB 2-in-1 shorts and they have the same compression shorts underneath and I like them also. I bought 2, one is the Bonita that is in the picture and the other is an Adrenaline which bunches up on me a little but I still like the shorts underneath. And chub rub !!!

Shan: Yes there is a pocket on the right leg of the shorts and no there is no headphone hole. I could suggest taking the skirt to a tailor and having them put a buttonhole in around the waistband somewhere and then you could pass your cord through there. It might be worth a try if you need it. I put the iPod in the pocket and ran the cord down and up where the split in the skirt was and it did not bother me that way. As I said before, I have the NB Skye bra tops and they have 3 pockets in the back. I usually put my iPod in a small baggie and keep it in one of those pockets. Anyone who has ever fogged their phone up knows why I use the baggie!!!

Okay, I found my 20% off coupon so that would make the price of the skirt $21 each if anyone is interested in the lime green skirt. If anyone wants one for that price let me know before December 31 as that is when the coupon expires. This is also good on the clearance skirts that were neon green color and would make them $10 but they were only in a large. I am willing to mail these or pack them for January if anyone wants one. Let me know your size and I will pick up what I can.

Renee: They have black, gray, light blue, and green in the Bonita and red in the Adrenaline. I don't like the Adrenaline as well but it is cheaper. The Adrenaline would be $16.80. If you are going to be in WDW in January, I would be happy to bring it with me and you can pay me then.

thanks Lisa--get me the black in the Bonita size M. I will be in WDW staying at the Boardwalk from the 10th -15th. (running the 5k on fri and the marathon on sun) and will be at the expo on Thursday when it opens around 3. for the rest of my itenerary... I think we are going to be at the magic kingdom most of the day on Saturday, and MGM and Epcot on Monday. (I believe my DH made ressies at Le Cellier for a post race celebratory dinner on monday night)
