I don't believe you need anyone's approval to change the name of the thread.

I was hoping the new Bachelor would be Jay. It didn't surprise me that Byron won, though.
I think it will be interesting with him living in the house.
The previews show lots of drama.

Just a little bump.....2nd episode of The Bachelor is on tonight at 9pm......followed by an all new "Wife Swap!"

Tonight's episode is sure to be high drama, too. I heard the commercial this morning, apparently one of the girls is this year's "Trish", as they were talking about her "slut clothing". And one of the other girls has an "announcement to make", which probably equals she doesn't find that dude all that attractive or nice, and wants to leave the show.

I watched it, but I'm not sure which one is the one with the "open heart" that you are referring to. Was she the one who was crying and saying that she "felt" him and that it was hard to see him with other women.

Just a note and maybe a little debate...Reaching 40 and saying "I just haven't found the right woman" is a little bit of a red flag. By 40, you've dated a lot of woman-None of them are good enough? I've never known a 40-something guy who has never been married that wasn't a little strange, or have some issues. At least Byron has been married.

I have to say, Byron is growing on me. I thought he and Jayne were good together, even though she is shy, and I also like Cheresse (sp?).

I am positive that the producers are making him keep Krysta around for awhile just for ratings. She is not his type, they haven't really show them interacting at all, why would he pick her? She gets so much more screen time than anyone else. We hardly know most of the girls he picked last night. All they ever show is Krysta talking bad about everyone else.

Other than that, I am glad that they are mixing things up a little this season. It was an interesting twist that only 3 girls got to meet with him before the rose ceremony. He ended up keeping two of them. I wonder if he was really contemplating getting rid of Jayne, I thought they had a good time on the date, but who knows.

Yeah, Krysta is there for the ratings. Similar to Trish from last season. Look for boiling bunnies in her future.

My favorite so far is Jayne. Byron does not appear to have a personality, as far as I can see. Perhaps he'll grow on me.......

Not sure who my favorite is yet. I did think he and Jayne were cute together but she has to come out of her shell a bit more.

Did you notice Jayne never kissed him? I think that he wants her to "come out of her shell" i.e. at least kiss me! Every other girl who got a rose hugged and/or kissed him (in Cherisse's case a full lip kiss ! ) but Jayne just took her rose and smiled and said thanks. Interesting.

I was surprised he dropped the red head (Wendy?). He should have dropped Krista, I can't stand her.

I think Jayne is a sly dog that is just playing hard to get. Anyone that is truly that shy would never have auditioned for the show in the first place.

Krista is a pig (and an unattractive one, at that).

Andrea is a complete nut-ball that always looks like she's about to have a nervous breakdown.

Does anyone else think a lot of the women look a little rough around the edges?

I think Krista is being kept for drama.

Byron seems to like the women who are a bit more reserved, he's a "hunter", he wants to pursue, not BE pursued. It's amazing how some of these women don't realize that.

Jayne intrigues him because she is holding back. I think that's what attracts him to her. The Kristas of the world, leaving those stupid notes at his door.. ... seem to turn him off.

We'll see...

So far, none of these girls really knock me out. I agree, they do seem rough around the edges. Krista is just out and out scary! I saw Byron on Ellen and he said he didn't go around making out with all the girls, like Bob did. But in all the previews it sure looks like that's what he's doing. He also said that he's on the phone with his choice every day, all day. He said they talk a lot and for long periods of time. So he must really like the girl he picked.

I think the older girls don't look as polished as the younger girls on previous bachelors. JMHO.

Do you think they're running out of girls who want to put themselves through this? I'm also surprised about the girl who left. Didn't she already know she had feelings for someone else?

I quit watching previous seasons, but they sucked me in with curiosity over the 2 bachelor thing. But so far, this season is still pretty boring. Neither bachelor was really someone I'd want to stick around in that house to fight for. I can't believe how "in love" Andrea thinks she is. She's going to really end up getting her heart broken.
