new availability tool

did anyone see the new availability on the member site. am i correct that we can check available rooms for other sites if we are not owners there now? meaning i can check for beach club next june is i don't own there and it isn't my 7 mth window yet? cause i want ot stay there next june but didn't know if there would be rooms available by then.

It has already been there for a couple weeks and was discovered and reported by a member here after it first appeared. You can check avaialbility for any and all resorts for any times from 11 months out. In fact, it is easy to do a search for all resorts and room sizes for the time you want by just putting in dates and leaving the boxes for the resort and room sizes blank. Moroever, when you go to your results and want to check a limited available room and click on it you will get a calendar that shows availaability for the entire month (and if your dates include another month you can see that one too).

I noticed that, too. But I haven't said anything out of fear that they'll realize it's a bug and find a way to take it away.

Maybe it is a bug cause last week before I saw it and according to u guys it has been there for a few weeks now I asked a cast member if they could just check bc villa availability right now and she said she couldn't and had no way of doing it cause I didn't own there. I tried to explain to her I knew I didn't own there but was just wondering and she said no and no way to do it. Guess she didn't know about it either! Lol. She was pretty rude also and I guess not really knowledgeable either cause she could have just told me to do to the member page and look for myself.

I just tried it, and it did not work for me. Do you just enter the dates on the screen where you would normally put in the dates and hotel, accommodation size, etc, or is it a different page?

I just used it to check Aulani availability in March 2015 and it worked fine (I do not own at Aulani.)

Just put my dates on the calendar, clicked Aulani and 2-bedroom and it worked

I used it earlier today and could check multiple resorts and room types at the same time. Did it only iPhone.

The booking online portion of the MS website has not changed. And it is still policy that the CMs only provide availability to owners before the 7 month mark. As a member bonus, DVC has added the Resort Availability tool. This program does not total the number of points for villa or view only says of a 1, 2,or 3 BR is available for each DVC resort for the dates entered. You can request dates from today up to 11 months out for all of the DVC resorts. Nor can you book from his tool. There really isn't any reason for a CM to use it or know about it since it is for member's use.

To find the Resort Availability Tool, go to the DVC Member website, Under the Vacation Planning tab select, Resort Availability Tool. Fill in the dates, select one or more of the resorts, and room type, click "Find a Resort". The results will show Best, Limited or No Availability. then you can select the view you are interested in, and a monthly calendar will appear shoeing the dates available for your dates, villa type and view.

I love the new tool. Doubt it will be taken away - I just got an email from DVC announcing it. (And it probably takes some of the load off the actual booking engine).

It's great for those of us who are on a waitlist - especially if we just need 1 night and don't care which resort we get. It's so quick & easy to check availability.

I bookmarked the tool and when I use the bookmark, after I sign-in, it takes me directly to that page.

I have to say this new tool is pretty awesome. That you can check multiple resorts for what you want is great. That you can check for availabilty at resorts at > 7 months is great. Looks like Disney hit a home run with this one...I wonder when they are going to "fix" it.
