New Attraction Ideas (blue sky only)

What attraction/restaurant/hotel/whatever would you like to "imagineeer" for WDW? Where would it be located?

Out of the blue, last night I thought of an awesome "E" ticket attraction themed around Disney's Hercules.

Mount Olympus would be WDW's latest Mountain and the center of the fabled Villians park, as most of the ride would actually take place underground in and under the river Styx. Guests would enter at the Temple of the Gods on the top of the mountain (as Hercules started as a God) rather than at the base like the other mountain attractions. Guests would experience Hercules's fall from Mount Olympus, his various feats (facing the Hydra, etc.) and encounters with Hades himself (the true star of the attraction). Lots of Pain, Panic & blue flames everywhere...this description doesn't do my imagination justice, but I can't give away all the details, now can I?

So, what would you design?

I've always thought the fox hunt scene from Mary Poppins would make a great ride.

You'd start off on a carousel and then the horses would "break free" and take you on a ride through the country side.

I would like a new dark ride. I'm not sure what it would be about but as much as I like E-Ticket rides a good dark ride like Horizons would be nice. In fact I have read that the original idea for the space pavilion that got whittled down to be Mission:SPACE was supposed to have a dark ride, an E-ticket attraction, and perhaps even a restaurant. I imagine the E-ticket would have still been Mission:SPACE which is fine. I actually like that ride but think it should be part of a pavilion and not a pavilion itself.

For a new E-Ticket ride I would love something that incorporated the light cycles from Tron.

Two I can think of off the top of my head:

Muppetland in Hollywood studios (whiich I think was the original plan before Jim Henson's untimely passing)

TRON motocycle ride

Not really blue sky ideas, but I'd go for any idea that would include an expansion of Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. AK doesn't need to get any bigger in size, it just needs a few more attractions. DHS on the other hand could get a little bigger and use a few more attractions.

Amen to that! I was at DHS this past weekend, and it was the first time I really spent any time in the park (other than hitting one or two select rides and jetting over to Epcot). There are only 6 rides - and 2 were down (RnR and Star Tours)!!

DHS does have a variety of shows, but shows take a lot of time - trying schedule rides/meals around show times, waiting, waiting, watching, getting caught up in the 1000 other people leaving at the same time....

I will be the first to sign a more DHS rides petition!

I love the idea of a break-out carousel! If we can work in some of the penguins from Mary Poppins, I would green light that attraction!

For a new E-Ticket ride I would love something that incorporated the light cycles from Tron.

The original TRON was one of the worst movies I've ever watched. Ever. EVER. Physically painful for me to endure.

...however, I think a light cycles ride would be pretty amazing...maybe over in Tomorrowland? I do think there should be 2 queues - one for folks who can take staring at lines of light in the darkness nonstop for 90 minutes and one for folks who can't. I'll be in the later, thanks!

I'd love to see an attraction based on the door warehouse scene from Monsters, Inc. You'd be hanging from an overhead beam traveling through the door warehouse and would periodically and randomly get switched to a different beam as you chased, or ran away from, the protagonists.

I saw it about 10 years ago, when it mysteriously showed up in my VHS collection. I'm sure it was amazing technology at the time, but the technology isn't what bothered me. The black screen with neon lines(regardless of technology) does not a movie make. It also had a plot (as I recall) similar to War Games or the book Ender's Game, just not my thing. Computers/technology as the main focus of any story is a quick way for me to lose interest.

Your Mount Olympus idea is a good one. With the success of the Percy Jackson book series and film, it'd be a definite hit.

Whenever I rode the skyway as a kid I was always terrified that the cables would snap and we'd drop. I always hated how when the wind would blow you would feel it in the car...That said, considering how much it terrified me, I would be a great addition to a villains/horror theme park

They do have one at DCA, but it is more of a dark ride, Snow White or Pinocchio type of ride. A very, very mild ride

I'd like to see a ride based on Lilo and Stitch, since Stitch has such a huge following.

Quite a while ago, this same topic had come up, and a poster then had suggested a standing roller coaster type of ride, where you were on a surfboard and went surfing with the characters.

The Princess and the Frog TOTALLY lends itself to a cool roller coaster type attraction, from the streets of New Orleans to the bog, etc.

I am in for the Mary Poppins idea, but then again anything on horseback sounds good to me. Just as long as it had NO MOVIE SIMULATOR SCREEN.
( Simulator rides IMO are just knock off attractions better suited for cheaper amusement parks.)

I have also thought that the Monsters door scene would make a cool ride. Something less intense than a coaster but more intense that TTA.

Speaking of TTA, expanding it to travel around more of the park would be wonderful. I would love to view the whole park that way!

Honestly, I would just like to see Horizons come back, that would be hard to top in my book.

I'm loving the ideas about a Mary Poppins attraction! Anything depicting the carousel scene or the "I Love to Laugh" sequence would be great!

I'd love something ... anything ... devoted to Lady & The Tramp, a Disney film that IMO is often overlooked.

Pinocchio ... Disney World needs something to celebrate him. Put it in World Showcase near Italy.

Wall-E ... Is anything in the works?
