Ok. Well here it is. Our first night was gonna be VN but our plane was delayed. So I canceled it. we went to DTD instead. We stayed at POR so we took the boat. After waiting for 4 boats we finally made it!! Actually it was only about a half hour. Anyway we went to RFC. We grabbed 2 seats at the bar and our server was Danny. He was great! I wanted nachos and DH got the primal steak. The nachos were really good but should have been hotter, as in warm not spicy. The steak was excellent. Very tender and tasty. But DH sent the first one back because it was overcooked. Even the server commented that it was not med rare! I would have loved the first one but.....It was not my meal. Lol! For dessert he got chocolate cake with raspberry sauce and vanilla ice cream. Maybe we were too full to enjoy this but it was just ok. This was a very good meal and like I said service was great! After dinner we went back to POR and watched some of Yeehaw Bobs show. If you have never seen this you should. He is awesome and the service is great! Thanks Hollie and John!

Day 2. I sent him to get breakfast and our mugs while I was getting ready. I was not hungry yet. He got the bounty platter and it was the usual breakfast food. But he was happy! We went to AK. After a while I was hungry and he is always hungry so we ate at FTB. I got the turkey sandwich without the cranberry mayo. Yes I am VERY picky. It was good but I thought I could get regular mayo at the condiments bar but had to settle for mustard. Next time I will ask at the counter to see if they had it. The bread was crumbly but I knew that going in and it did not bother me. Although a baguette would have been great:goodvibes DH got the rib and chicken combo which was great. I know because I tried both! Next time he will just get the ribs though because he wanted more they were so good! We ordered each of the desserts. A key lime pie thing and a chocolate mouse. We didn't care much for either but again we were pretty full. So maybe that is why:confused3 Dinner was at Boatwrights because he is a Cowboys fan. :crazy2::confused3:scared::sad: Ok you get the message. Go Patriots! :cool1: Anyway...he wanted to watch the game in the River Roost lounge. Back to dinner. We both liked the cornbread. My dinner was the tenderloin. I had read here that it was small so I suggested the prine rib for him. Glad he listened! While the tenderloin was enough for me he would have needed another order. I really liked it tho. But I think for someone with a bigger appetite the prime rib is the way to go. My side was mac n cheese and it was good until it got cold then it was a little goopy. He had roasted potatoes and liked them.

Dessert was chocolate cake which was good. I got bananas foster angel cake. I didn't like it at all. Neither did he. It was mushy and too sweet and the bananas oh never mind I can't even describe it. Blech

thanks for your reviews...

we love taking the boat from French Quarter to DTD, but you are right...sometimes those boats confuse me...

thanks again

Hi Ro Z! I'm glad to see your dining reports. :) Sorry your plane was cancelled - not a great way to start your trip but it sounds like the steak for the alternative dinner was good. (At least the 2nd attempt to get it cooked to his liking.)

Everyone says they love the cornbread at Boatwrights. Glad you gave your DH good advice with the prime rib. I've read about the tenderloin and it would likely be my choice. And no question that I would order anythinbg banans foster for dessert!!!

So... you are not a Cowboys fan?? Ha! :rolleyes1 It is the Packers or nothing in my house. ;)

More reviews to come as soon as I can get to it. !! :goodvibes thanks for reading!!

Your'e funny! :) I really don't follow sports so I just cheer for anyone with the ball! :p Now my DH... that's a different story. I know if his team is winning or losing by the hollering that is going on in the man cave!

Looking forward to more of your dining adventures!

Ok.......I am back. Thanks for waiting! :cutie:
We ate around the world next. Filet in Canada was yummy just like everyone said! Very tender and tasty! DH loved the fishermans pie in Ireland (I hope I am remembering the names of the food!)He said there was more lobster than last years. I had the Chocolate lava cake. Delish. It is very small but so rich any more would be too much. Maybe :goodvibes Lamb meatballs next. I didn't try them. As I have said before I am too picky! DH said they were ok. He didn't like the aftertaste. Merguez sausage with peppers and onions on pita next. The pita was soggy so we just ate the sausage and peppers. Very tasty. If they hadn't been premade and waiting around, the pita would have been good. In Italy we split the ravioli. It was very good but heavy on a hot day. This would be a good sitdown meal. The portion was huge and we couldn't finish it. In China he tried the chicken and peanut sauce. The chicken was good but he said the sauce tasted like peanutbutter puke:scared1: Needless to say I didn't try it! We walked to the Land for strawberry shortcake. We split one and it was very good!

We took the boat to the Studios. After a few rides we needed a drink. We went to the Backlot Canteen. Dinner was Mama Melrose's. This was a great meal. Started with hot rolls and butter or oil. We both got steaks with mac n cheese. The steaks were cooked perfectly, mine, med.well and his med.rare and tender. They were the best steaks on this trip. The mac n cheese was a little too garlicky for us. We both would sub for a differant side next time. But that left more room for steak and dessert!! :cool1: We ordered the chocolate ricotta cake OMG!!!:lovestruc and the amaretto cheesecake. I can't wait to go back here!!

We wandered towards Fantasyland and there was a sign welcoming us to the dress rehearsal! I got goosebumps! pixiedust:We were able to walk into BoG. Since this was a suprise we weren't planning on lunch but.... We had a late breakfast but couldn't pass this up! We went inside and were taken to the CM to take our order. We decided to split a steak sandwich and pomme frittes. And a chocolate cupcake for dessert. We were able to choose the room we wanted and picked a table in the main ballroom right next to the windows and watched it snow. We could walk around and take pictures while we waited for our food. Which we DID!! As it turned out our rose didn't work so we waited longer than usual, but we really didn't notice. The sandwich was good. It was on a nice baguette and came with fries. Paul would have liked some au jus to dip but I liked it the way it was. The so called pomme frittes were the same fries we get everyplace in Disney. I have read reviews of dinner and they were described as steak fries but that isn't what we got. The chocolate cupcake was yummy! It had a mousse like center and I loved it! This was such a great suprise! We also rode Mermaid. So cute!!

That's so exciting that you got to see the New Fantasyland! I'll be there in 13 days and I can hardly wait! :). Glad you had a fun day.

Ro Z - your lunch at BOG sounds awesome!! I'm glad the food was good (even if no au jus for your DH) and that the dessert was delicious as well. I can't wait to see FL let alone BOG!!! What a wonderfully unexpected treat!

Can you tell me a little more about the snow? Was it "snowing" outside? I don't think I've heard of this so I'm curious to hear about that magical piece. :)

Brenda,
You don't see Disney World from the windows. You see the view Beast would see from his castle and it was snowing. It was a kinda blueish color (like night time) and white snowflakes fell. There was frost on the corners of the windowpane. So pretty!

Here are some pics of the "snow" ... with and without flash. The pics aren't the best but they give you an idea. It was really beautiful.

Wish our dinner experience was better than it was. I will definitely give lunch a try next trip though.
