We did our last cruise in August '03 and are in the process of booking Summer '05 on the Magic again. We've been off the boards for a couple of months but were wondering -- we know that the Magic was drydocked and that there were a number of changes made to the ship. Anyone out there know what was done? I believe I read somewhere that ESPN Zone is now the Teen area. True?

Thanks!!!!
P.S. My AAA Travel Agent says Disney told her they are able to book Summer '05 now. She is supposedly working on it.

We've had several mailings from Disney talking about what has been done...we sail next month, so I haven't seen the changes first hand yet. ESPN was remodelled into a new teen area called "The Stack." The big deal is that teens KTTW cards will be encoded to enable the elevator to that floor. Younger kids won't be able to get there on the elevator, and it should eliminate the "drop ins" of curious people that were happening when the teens were in Common Grounds by the pool.

Common Grounds was remodelled into an adult coffee bar area.

RockinBarD was remodelled into Diversions, which is a sports oriented bar or club.

There were some other "sprucing ups" but these were the main remodelling changes.

What about Off Beat? I heard that was gone and so are the Dueling Pianos. That was one of our favorites on the last trip and I was so sorry to hear that news. Is this true?

Nope it's not Rockin Bar D, it is Offbeat that was remodeled into diversions.

The dueling pianos are gone, just look for a post from Rae for info on what Fidelio's up to.

The big rundown in some more detail.

Espn Club is now 'The Stack' a teen only area. Elevator access is by teen KTTW card only. Parents, don't pop a vein, you can still access the area vie the stairs on Deck 10 if you need to retrieve your teen.

Common Grounds, the old teen hangout is now an adult only lounge, with internet access teminals and gourmet coffee bar. Looks very nice from the pics.

And last, the sports bar has moved to what was Offbeat and is now Diversions. They acutally made it even more sports fan firendly with multiple monitors spread over the area, they also opened up the club all the way to the portholes so you can now look out on that side of the ship.

Off Beat is now Diversions, a pub and sports bar.

Let us know if this is true- My AAA agent told me this morning- no 7 Day 2005 dates can be booked yet- in fact she told me to check again in March or April! It wouldnt be the first time they were wrong though- if it wasnt for these boards I wouldnt know what I was doing.

P.S. Will let you know about AAA -- She is calling me back on Monday but last week told me that Disney told her that she can book -- If this is true I'll post the results.

Sorry...that's what I get for trusting memory and not pulling out the literature....
