The possibility of a new "domestic parks" annual pass being offered by Disney is being reported on some other fan sites. The pass would provide admission to all WDW and DLR parks. The appeal to DVC members appears to be a consideration. Anyone hear anything about this. Would you buy one?

Depends on the price. Probably though. We have AP for both WDW and DL/DCA. We own at VGC yet, but are thinking about it. Anaheim is easier and cheaper to fly to from Seattle.

Depending on price, we might some years if the rumor is accurate.

I can see planning a vacation at Aulani or on Maui, and then stopping at DL for a few days on the way home. Repeat within 12 months. Vacation at WDW in between.

Definitely - if it's cost effective!! :thumbsup2 I have often said I wish there was an AP that was good on both coasts!! We end up buying AP's for WDW then we go there over & over & over instead of throwing in a trip to CA. Going to CA is more expensive flight wise too but then to add park tix on top when we already have AP's for FL is just a duplicate expense. We hope to stop by DL on the way to Hawaii in 2012...so if we had dual coast AP's we could use them for FL in 2013... Sounds like a good plan to me!

(We also hope to spend a couple days at DLP in 2011 so even an AP that's good at ANY park would be a plus for us!!)

I'd recommend stopping on the way home from HI. At least that works better with flights from Illinois. Going to HI isn't bad but coming home is a killer. Breaking the trip up in CA works great. We've done it a number of times.

I'm interested ... but not at the rumored $800 price point. I often have a DVC WDW AP (standard, not premium) and a Costco "4 days of Play" pass ($160) for SoCal residents. Since I don't need the water parks and never spring for a DL Premium AP ... it looks like paying a la carte remains my better option.

I wouldn't do it if it costs a whole lot more.

We went to DL in December and used the WDW pass trick. Had old hoppers (price point of about $30-35. per day) and had them exchanged at DL. Sure beat the one day admission price of $97.

If Disney offers a domestic park annual pass, I hope they'll be smart about how they price it. If it's substantially less than buying separate annual passes for WDW and DLR, I'd be interested.

However, if it's only slightly less, I'd rather manage the expiration dates of two separate annual passes, allowing one pass to lapse while another is active.

Other issues will include black-out dates, what's included with the pass, and other benefits.

:scared1: The OP left out that little detail!! NO! NOT for $800. It would be more cost effective to just pay for what we need at DL IF we go. But it still won't get us to bounce back & forth between coasts if it's THAT expensive!! It would have to be priced more like the PAP's IMHO.

Like anyone else, I would prefer to get this pass for as little as possible, but depending on the details, $800 does not seem like a ridiculous price. If you buy a a WDW AP and a DL DAP (without DVC discount), the total is $820 ($521 + 299). If you got the combined DVC discount off of the $800 price (hey, a girl can dream!), that would lower the discounted Super Pass to $680. So if you were going to buy a WDW AP, you could add the DL pass for only $259. Not a great deal, but another $40 discount.

If you compare the WDW PAP and the DL PAP, of course, the $800 price is even more of a bargain. Both would cost about $1078 (before any DVC discount). If the $658 DVC Super Pass ($145 combined DVC discount) buys you the equivalent to these passes, the savings would be an additional $245.

But in our case for example, just doing a stop-over for a couple of days it's still not worth it to add DL to our passes for THAT much. I would compare the value of entry into the 2 DL parks = to the value of upgrading from an AP to a PAP where you get the benefit of the 2 water parks and DQ. That is basically 3 parks.:confused3 The DL parks can be "done" much faster than WDW (it only takes 2-3 days) so I don't think an $800 price is justified.

We definately would buy this if the price was reasonable.

We live in TX and both parks are about the same distance away. We frequent FL a bit more, but DH's parents live on the west coast, and we plan to use our GCV points for our time with them. It would help us out a bunch if we could get an AP for both coasts - that way we could go to whichever park appeals to us at the time (or has better airfare) rather than which park we currently have an AP for. It would certainly help our planning, but the price would have to be right. :goodvibes

We live in L.A. and visit Disneyland about once a month. We also visit WDW once a year for at least two weeks. This pass could be a deal for us since we usually do hold AP's for both parks anyway.

We would also consider buying this pass if the price is right. We live close to DL and plan to visit WDW twice during the next year. The pass would work great for us, but only if it were priced right. I wouldn't mind seeing a pass with blackout days or one that can be paid for monthly like the current DL passes.

One can dream!
