unfortunately, i can't upgrade the disney tix in question, old 10 day non-expiring i bought in '08 with unknown # of days left. i just wanted to know if i had enough days to use next trip without need to activate AP voucher (that i wanted to save for next year). Thank goodness it's not poker - if you can't call them, you don't own them.

one time i renewed my ap 4 months in advance since i heard of an upcoming increase.


you don't lose any time on them if you renew far in advance.
they use your expiration date and add a year on to that.

Is the $170 renewal the total with taxes? I renewed early in the past too. You can pretty much call and renew whenever you want as you keep the same pass. I tried online and got errors too. Our passes expire in January.

FWIW.... You should be able to run by the Guest Services locations at Downtown Disney before you go to the park and have them check the non-exp tickets to tell you how many days are left. If there aren't enough days, you can also activate your AP while there.

I'm not sure how far in advance you can renew online or over the phone, but at the ticket windows it is only 30 days before the expiration date to 30 days after.

I tried to renewal my Disney AP about 45 days early and I think I broke their system! They were completed confused as how to do it and the system wasn't reading the renewal dates correctly. It was a little funny until I went to AK and my "new" pass didn't work. I would stick with the 30 day window if renewing at the ticket window.

Sounds like a "Micky Mouse" kind of operation to me.

Yeah...I found that out. I was surprised they were willing to turn down $350.00 for my renewal because it was a little too early. But...we got it all worked out.
