New Annual Membership

WDW has suspended all sales of new passes at this time and that includes to DVC owners.

The only exception is for guests who had passes expire during closure or chose to take a refund during that time.

If you call into that category, you’d be eligible to contact the AP line, they will verify you are eligible and then sell you a new DVC AP.

You can if they ever call you back, it has been over a week and I am still waiting, I call back and get told to wait some more.....how hard is it to just see I have one that was cancelled and sell me one?

Same situation for me. Waiting for a callback... Have some here had success in waiting or is it best to make an additional call and brave the hold time once again?

I called DVC member services Saturday morning, waited the requisite 40 minutes on hold, got through and bought my renewal.
(I had called another purely evil number the evening before, waited on hold for over an hour only to be transferred three times and get told it’d be another 40 minutes, after which they had won and I hung up in defeat.)

I read somewhere that it’s taking closer to 10 days. They are still not working at full staff and it sounded like there are a lot of people waiting.

Hopefully soon!

I waited well over a week for the first call back. Unfortunately, I missed it. (Couldn't stay home all day everyday waiting for it). Calling back was frustrating. Apparently, one IT group backs up the VIP passholder group when the phones are busy and vice versa. Somehow, I always got the group that couldn't help & either had to transfer me or resubmit my info to the group that could. But eventually, it all worked out and I was able to repurchase our passes.

If you've been told someone submitted your info & are waiting for a callback, I would counsel patience. It definitely could take a while. Good luck!

I'm trying to be patient. Call on Jan 17th after not getting thru on Jan 10th. Waited a week and called again. They said they are running behind. After 90 minutes.
Ok. It is now been 11 days and I am on hold again to see where they are in the process.

This time someone answered quickly, but I got transferred.

I’m at day 14. I called at day 10 for the 3rd time and they stated that the current wait is now 2-3 weeks. They were kind and notes that there is a tremendous backlog and limited staff.

Back to the OPs question. Any thoughts on when DVC members may have the option to purchase APs? We're planning to stay at DVC more than once a year, but won't if we can't get APs.

No one really knows because it’s up to Disney and not DVC. My guess is we won’t see them back until summer or fall at the earliest.

Getting close to 21 days now.

Wait, member services can handle it or is that just for renewals and not people that had cancelled?

Mine was a renewal. From everything I’ve read, there’s no way to buy a really new AP right now.

How about a non DVC AP that took a refund? Are we excluded from purchasing an AP next year??

I’m UK and when I cancelled they gave me a partial refund and a special reference number they said could be used to get a new pass when I called up next time when we can finally get back- if they are still selling them then. Unfortunately cannot get renewal rate but only new pass rate, although they did say that I could use the DVC discount.
Looks like I’ll be buying UK 14 day tickets. It was always a good deal to then upgrade those to a pass if you wanted a pass, but it’s not clear at all whether we will still be able to do this at the Disney Springs ticket office using the reference. I suspect this is something they’ve not considered yet?
Despite the long waits on the phone, the cast members were great I have to say. Old school Disney service I thought.

My pass expired last Dec, couldn’t renew it over the phone, but I bought a 3 day ticket and then at a guest services office they renewed my pass and took the paid price for the 3days as part of the payment..

They have a recovery offer for anyone who had an AP that canceled it during closure or it expired during closure. Doesn’t matter whether it was DVC, FL resident or general public.

If you canceled an AP during closure, you call the AP line..even if it was DVC..They will take your information, verify, and then call back in a few weeks and allow you to buy.

But other than that, no one else can get one. It applies to all types of APs.
