Hi! I am new to the board and planning my sons MAW trip to WDW!
I love reading all of your helpful info and tips! I look forward to getting to know you all! :)

Yeah!!

Another Wish family!

Welcome!

Check out the "Wish Trippers Unite" thread linked below in my signature. There is a TON of information about Wish Trips. We have lots of trip reports you can read and we have a pretty tight community over there for Wish families.

Do you guys have dates yet? :)

I love reading all the trip reports~ Such a wealth of information!

Yes! And you should stock up on kleenex! :) There are some very special moments in those TR's!

I think you will find that each Wish Trip is different. Different magical moments for each family. Different parks that they each enjoy "the most." Hopefully you will get some hints from all of them, though. :)

There are some links in Post 2 in the Wish Trippers thread that have some hints about Wish Trips, good links to follow, etc...in addition to the trip reports.

Also...many of the Wish parents don't visit the front page of the disABILITIES thread very often...so come post over on our thread and you will get LOTS of hints and might even find some new friends! :)

ooh a new person, happy dancing

Welcome to this board and ask away. FAQs is stickied and covers many things you may be wondering about like taking a kid on a plane, stroller as a wheelchair GAC, how to beat the crowds, how to beat the heat, and some down right friendly folks.

I am sort of the cheerleader and server of Becky's coffee.

WElcome and good luck on the trip, big hugs and chocolates.

Welcome to the boards! Our family just got back from our wish trip. It was amazing. This place is such a great place to be. You will learn a lot. We traveled with 5 kids, 3 adults, and a service dog. It was a trip of a life time. So magical!

HI there!!

How was your trip? Are you guys planning on doing a Trip Report! We would LOVE to hear all about it!! (if you want to share!) :)

I will for sure. Asia has been sick so I haven't gotten around to it. I do have some stuff on my blog though, so check it out if you have time.

Gosh...I am sorry Asia has been sick!

What is your blog address? You can PM me, if you don't want to post it. :)

She does have it in her profile:
http://hickorywoodhomeschool.blogspot.com/

I went there and she has some very nice pictures and kind of an overview of their WISH trip.

Shanka, if you don't mind, I would like to copy information from your blog about travel with a SD and post it here (with credit to you, of course). It was very well written and brought up some points that have not been made before.

And, for Asia, who believes in Fairies, a movie suggestion if you have not seen it. The movie is called Fairy Tales, A True Story and is about 2 little girls long ago in England who found some fairies.
Read the description because there is some content that might be disturbing (one of the girl's brother died and they think he might be an angel). The movie is really well done though and is beautifully photographed.

Hi Sue,
For some reason my blog link won't show up in my signature. It is there when I look in preview under "change siggy". Weird. Anyway, you have my permission to post the service dogs stuff. I do plan on posting it to my special needs site as well. I want to help anyone who needs help with service dogs so thank you for offering to copy and paste. My store is www.shanka.ca and it will be there as well. (just have to find the time) Asia is feeling better so I should have some time over the weekend.

Warmly, Samantha

Wow!! You have already written a trip report!

Oh, I do hope you will put it in "DIS" format and post it!!!! I love, love, love your writing!!!

And I would love to hear all of the stories and River is awesome, too!

I love your writing style!

I am starting to think about different ways to make a short flyer about GKTW to help with (HOPEFULLY) fundraising for Marathon Weekend for GKTW. I love the way you describe GKTW in your first post. At some point, I might want to use your wording...if you don't mind? This would be something I would send to just my friends and family...but others on the DIS could possibly use it, too, to send to their friends and family. Would you be game for that?

Thanks for the compliments. I am not sure what you want to do with my writing though. It would be weird to see somebody else publish my words. I am not saying no, I just need more information. PM me and we can talk further about it. As for your personal use to family and friends... I am fine with that. :o) I would also love to do anything for GKTW.. need some help with this project?

I posted our pre trip today!
I got carried away telling Caleb's story.....oops!
I am so excited for our trip!!

That is the thread and boy what a brave kid you got there. Now I see more about him and wow what a kid. As for the braces you have to watch them in the parks as ouchies can happen especially with moisture from sweat and water rides. If you have any questions ask away. I see you have a Maroo Angel helping you. Big hugs and wow what a great report. I like the detailed long ones as it helps others help the reporter better plan their trip.:thumbsup2

Big hugs and chocolates

Here is the more updated version of that blog entry. Feel free to use whatever one you want. :) Help yourself to the pictures on each as well.

Thank you.
I was thinking we get enough questions about travel with Service Dogs that the subject warrants its own post in the disABILITIES FAQs thread.

I could either copy and post your whole information (along with a link to your site and credit to you). Or, I could post a few suggestions from your site and a link to your site. Since it is your writing, I want to make sure I give you credit and use it in a way that you feel comfortable.

Thanks

Hugs Sue then Shanka

Sue there are so many questions and legal issues with service dogs that people should know about. You saw that one I posted that said people could not have dogs except service dogs and if they pay a cleaning fee. I see on the board things like should your dog drink in a restaurant, transportation and a dog, other service animals, do you need documentation, and more. I need my nap as usual. There are tips like the hot summer pavement, dehydration, proper diet, how to deal with guests who snuggle the dogs, and where to go potty.

I love the site Shanka and will bookmark it and place it with my growing list of tips and helpful stuff for WDW and DLR. thanks

hugs and Dole Whips and chocolates and honey Popcorn
Laurie:hug:

The only problem with your site Shanka is that there are not enough pictures of River. I would say maybe another 50 to 500 more. :lmao:

Hi Sue!
Yes, feel free to post the entire thing and then a link to my site. I will be putting many more articles up on Service dogs so let me know if there are any topics that really need addressing.
