Hi this is my first time - so please be gentle!!

I'm planning a trip to WDW next year and it'll be the first time with my little boy and I was wondering if I could ask your advice.

If we go in November what will the weather be like?? I don't want it too hot as Kai (my son) will only be 2 & 1/2 yrs but I would like to go swimming and wear a t-shirt without freezing to death!!

Plus I'd like to go to Chef Mickey's for a character breakfast - is it easy to get transport from the Caribbean Beach early in the morning? I was also wondering if we drove to the contemporary from the CB, would they let you leave your car there all day and go to MK???

Thanks alot for listening !!

cheers!

Hello askdavis :wave2: Welcome to DIS!! :cool1: I can't help you with your questions as I have never been in November and as of yet I haven't been to Chef Mickey's, however I am sure someone out there will be able to answer your questions ;)

thanks alot for that - thats really helpful (i didn't expect a reply so quick!!!)

:wave2: Hi askdavis and welcome to the Dis

I have a funny feeling I may know you ;) but I may be wrong :teeth:

Hi there  don't be nervous!

If you don't have a car you'll need to take a bus from the CB to the ticketing and transportation center, park there, and then take the monorail over to the Contemporary resort. Which is totally cool. The busses run pretty early, check with the front desk at CB to find out times.
I'd suggest taking the bus from CBR straight to MK and then walk or get the monorail to the Contemporary. If your breakfast is early on in your trip, and you haven't taken the monorail before, then do it for this journey - it is amazing the first time you see it arrive in the Contemporary!

Buses to the parks start running around half an hour before park opening :)

Hi There

A very warm welcome to the Disboards, dont be nervous, we are a very friendly bunch and always love to help out when we can.

I think your questions have been answered by others, but just to let you know, I went in December a couple of years ago, and although it was chilly first thing in the morning, it was plenty warm to swim later on in the day.

I am almost sure if you drive to a Disney Hotel for breakfast that you would be able to leave your car there, I am sure somebody will correct me if Im wrong.

If you need any other info, please feel free to ask at anytime.

Sue

Welcome!

With regards to the weather in November, I would say it is an really good time to go with your son. It should still be warm enough to swim, no problem, although a couple of times we have been late Nov / early Dec, they have had a 'cold snap' where the temperature has fallen into the 60's (!), so be prepared with a sweater or jacket.

As a rule, the weather seems to be a little more consistent in earlier November, plus you avoid the very busy Thanksgiving week (4th week in Nov). You should find the temperature then still up in the 80's.

Enjoy planning!

hi  welcome to the dis,we went to wdw last november and the weather was lovely...not a drop of rain and t-shirt weather all week :sunny:

Hiya

Welcome to the Dis

I was in florida at the caribean beach hotle from 27th november last year for two weeks and we had a great time, we only wore light jackets on a night and my bf swam every day.

Hope you have a great time planning your trip!!

chef mickeys is great too

My first trip 20 odd years ago went through October into early November and the weather was amazing. We did have a couple of afternoon storms, most of the time if was just perfect and we swam in the hotel pools we stayed in, as well as the sea which was still around 25 degrees :sunny:

:wave2: Welcome to the DIS :disrocks:

Just wanted to say a big  and welcome, don't worry about asking ANY question, theres someone here who can answer anything! the friendliest bunch of people you're ever likely to (not) meet! :rolleyes1

Hi and welcome!

I was at Chef Mickey's last week and was thinking of simply leaving the car there - when I drove up they were being very strict about parking so it made my mind up to simply use the valet service. For $7 it is well worth it and means you can leave your car all day. It depends on how early you go of course. Although it sounds horrific, we found the 7am booking was great - it wasn't too busy with getting to the food or the characters and meant you could take your time and head over to MK for opening.

You'll love it!

Nick

Hi- thanks alot for all your advice - especially the tip about the valet parking at contemporary - that sounds like a great plan!

How did I forget that, yeah, definitely bypass the TTC and go straight to MK, save you wading through the crowds.

I've got it so ingrained in my head that you can't get a vehicle close to MK that I apply it to busses, as well.

Has anyone actually used the valet parking and stayed all day?

I used valet last week for the Contemporary. I left mid-afternoon but could have stayed all day if I wanted to. Would certainly use it again in the future.

I have just been to Chef Mickey's it was fab. We booked a PS for 9.00. The breakfast is lovely, lots of choice, and the characters spend loads of time with everyone, even the grown ups.

I didn't do the MK on the same day, as i wanted us to spend time at Chef Mickey's rather than rushing everything to get into the park. We spent 1 and half hours on breakfast, and took loads of photo's with Mickey and co.

We then spent the rest of the morning riding the monorail. Matthew got to ride up front with a CM. Ask before you board to do this. The one that goes to EPCOT goes right into the park, and our driver was really good and pointed out all the interesting things. We then caught a boat to the MK from the transportation centre, and caught a boat from the ML to the wilderness lodge hotel. Had a look round and an ice cream. It was a lovely day.
