New Amazing Race shows start Wednesday March 5!

I always enjoy seeing the many places they travel to. One specific place my Dh visited years ago. He said- oh I was there.

Can't wait. I love this show. Especially when they travel to countries I visited for work. There have been a number of times I've been it some of the same locations, restaurants, etc, that they stop at.

YAY!!! I watched from the start, took off a few seasons, but have watched the last several. Looking forward to the new season. Would love another all-stars season one day.

I'm looking forward to this! I heard they were going to some different (for them) countries, which I love.

They always have teams that seem weaker. Sometimes they surprise me. I certainly didn't expect Ricky and Cesar to win last season. I think the Cirque du Soleil guys might do well this season.

I agree about Jonathan. He seems like a powder keg ready to explode. Add the fact that they had marital problems in the past and I think we are going to see a lot of arguments between the two of them.

It felt like they made sure that we heard teams saying thank you to ticket agents, taxi drivers, etc. I also noticed that they had just about every team talk about the beauty of the Buddha and the country. One team said something like, "even though it is foggy, it is beautiful."

I wasn't sorry to see those two teams go. They seemed like lovely people, but not very competitive racers.

I hope Jonathon sees this and realizes what a jerk he was being. Even before his "coming in second isn't good enough!" rant, he was crabbing about how hard they worked, only to lose their lead, waiting for the ferry. Um, Dude--you did one task. And your wife did it--and did great. What hard work, exactly? And do you have no clue that there are equalizers all the time--waiting for places to open, waiting in airports, waiting for trains...

I am not good with names do not care for the yellow team. They made some comment when picking dance of how they knew they would be better than a few of the other teams which rubbed me the wrong way.

I just went back to look at it again. They were behind and would be the last on either side, and strategized that they would have a better chance to beat the retired fire fighters and/or brothers in the dance side. Turned out they were right, they beat the firefighters and almost beat the brothers.I didn’t see anything offensive in the comment.

Rewatching also reminded me that the mom & daughter ran to the pit stop rather than taking a taxi. Guess the clue didn’t specify how to travel?

My son and I could not believe that they would cast someone who was afraid of stairs. Not surprised that they went home.

I enjoyed the split into two tracks and that they eliminated one team from each track.
it's been a few seasons but we've seen plenty of people afraid of heights or water (as in swimming) I remember one team almost eliminated because one of them was terrified of a water slide

Heights is one thing (although still unadvisable IMO to do the show) but stairs? Stairs are so abundant in the show, sometimes they are short and steep but they can be long and steep. Sometimes they are long and gradual incline but no matter what you're going to encounter it frequently enough. The women seemed nice and they did challenge themselves on the leg but I agree it was not the right casting call to have someone so afraid of stairs.

Wasn’t the stairs thing related to an accident/injury? I wonder if that was more recent than the casting application.
I don't know if it was recent or not but she said she developed a phobia of stairs due to it.

They have back ups to call I'm sure just like in Survivor. It's more that it takes the place of someone else who could have competed. We (meaning posters) say this of every season (including Survivor) if there is someone there that is probably not the best fit (or for some situations doesn't seem to take it seriously enough).

I totally get wanting to overcome something like a phobia to stairs but a worldwide physically and mentally challenging competition is IMO not the place to do it when it is so commonplace throughout the challenge. In some situations people who were afraid of heights were able to strategically (or just luck) avoid having to complete in the challenge that had that and instead their partner could. Stairs you're going to encounter just getting to a challenge, getting from that challenge to the mat, using transportation, etc and all on a stressful time crunch.
