Yes.

The replacement will take a while to begin as they are enclosing, air-conditioning and redesigning the theater.

The new production is slated to be a "Finding Nemo" show.

No final word on the actual Nemo Show, but its rumored to be NOTHING like the current "Tarzan Rocks".

As I envision it, in the NEW NEMO show, Crush and a cadre of young Turtle Dudes skateboard across the stage and do "flying curls".

While actors who portray Nemo and Dory (in scant attire) will swing in from the ceiling.

There will be a School 'o Fish live band that wails (whales?) as Star-fish Singers (everybody wants to a STAR-fish) belt out a gnarly Nemo number.

All of this as guest star Rosie O'Donnell (who graciously donated her smooth vocal talents) will encourage the audience to "WHOOP"!

;)

KEWELLL!!!

Can't WAIT!

I'm crushed! We saw Tarzan Rocks for the very first time just this past September. I thought it was one of the best shows at WDW!

The real problem with Robo's post is that he has probably described exactly what they plan to do.

Tarzan was one of the worst shows I've seen at Disney so I won't miss it. :)

Don't get out much, huh?

:rotfl:

I'm a little confused as to why they would put a Nemo show in Dinoland area of AK :confused3 --it doesn't seem like a very good fit. I love Nemo and wound love to see his show, but how about Living Seas at Epcot.

For Dinoland, I would love to see something dinoaur related, geared toward young kids, as this park needs a little in that age range. There was a Dinosaur movie by Disney (I think)...... :scratchin or how about Jungle Book--love that one.
Just my opinion on the subject :upsidedow

Good call. Nemo & his buddies are there NOW, in force.
"Turtle Talk" with Crush is a runaway SMASH HIT.

I think there was, too. ;)
It was called (oddly enough) DINOSAUR and the MAIN ATTRACTION at Dinoland (the ride is also called DINOSAUR) is based on (scenes and characters from) that Disney movie.

The original name on the DINOSAUR attraction at AK was "Countdown to Extinction" but when the movie DINOSAUR was finally released (it takes YEARS to create an animated film, so it was in production at the same time the ride was created) the AK attraction's name was changed to make the movie tie-in complete.

As to why Nemo could be in this theater?
Why not?
TARZAN was not, umm, exactly about DINOSAURS either.
(There are several jokes that work here... readers can create their own).

But mostly, consider that this theater is not actually IN Dinoland, but it is NEAR Dinoland. FWIW, it is also very near Expedition Everest.

While we're at it, "Festival of the Lion King" has neither MINNIE nor MICKEY in it, but we all know in the middle of EXACTLY what CAMP that theater is sitting! :sunny:

Robo you are sooooo funny. I have to agree with you, Tarzan was one of the worst things I have ever seen. The skating was kind of cool but the rest of the show -- pew ::yes:: I was actually embarassed for the actors, what a humiliating job. And tarzan looked like he should be on the cover of a romance novel. I am glad to here they are redoing the theater too. It is sooooooo hot and sticky in there. Even our little guy did not like the show. In our opinion it should have been called Tarzan Sxxks. I realize this is just my opinion, but if Disney axed the show........................

Although to be fair, Disney has cancelled good stuff before. And everybody likes different things.

Me my DH, and DD aged 9 or younger at the times we went, liked that show. We couldnt have been the only ones. How many yrs did it run for? For that matter, we also were very disapointed when they closed the Hunchback of Notre Dame show at Disney MGM Studios :guilty:

I was thinking there was an animated Dinosaur movie for very young kids...I may be wrong (often am :) ) Anyway, I would like to see Nemo at Living seas and maybe Jungle Book at AK. I love themes that work :goodvibes

I am proud to say my family loves Trazan Rocks. We are very sad to see it go.

Yep. I get it.

We like it.
We hate it.
We love it.
We despise it.
Its a candy mint.
Its a breath mint.

But, can we agree that:

"Beauty and the Beast" was a GREAT animated film.
"Beauty and the Beast-ON STAGE" is very true to the tone of that film.

"The Lion King" was a GREAT animated film.
"Festival of the Lion King" is very true to the tone of that film.

Disney's "Tarzan" was a GREAT animated film.
"Tarzan ROCKS" is very much UN-LIKE that film.

That comparison alone was enough to hit some people the wrong way.
Its not what they have come to EXPECT in a Disney show.
(I could say the same for "Cinderellabration", but please pretend I DIDN'T.)

If a similar DAK show (with skating dudes, rock bands, and free-swinging "beautiful people") had NOT been called "TARZAN Rocks", it may have been better-received.

But the show they staged, with a "Tarzan" name on it, made it all-the-more RIPE for criticism.

Well said Robo.
I also will not be sad to see this go. All the other kids shows based on animated films at Disney I did not feel out of place at. Just good Disney, Family fun. But Tarzan felt so aimed at pre-teens and teens I really felt out of place and that the show was definately no for me.
Nemo would be cool. I hope it will be open when I go in July.
