I suggest you do a little research. These machines expose someone to the same amount of radiation as what you are exposed to flying for TWO minutes!

Are you also suggesting people not fly because of the exposure to radiation?

You're right. I do need to do more research.
When my pts ask about radiation exposure we often compare it to background radiation that the earth gives off or flying in a plane. It doesn't stop me from flying at all.

It probably is very low dose if it can only penetrate your clothes and not show bones.

That is the confusing part. I posted links to the pics from these machines on page 1 of this thread. The one from the TSA site appears to shows bones. The other one does not.

Who actually sees these scans of your body? The person who is trained to read them only right. It is not like the scan of your body is visible to other costumers, or anything right?? I personally dont care that these scanners see through down to your clothes. As, this is the society we live in. Where monsters lurk plotting to hurt others. It actually makes me feel safer.

Correct. And actually, that person never actually sees you. They probably couldn't even match up what they see on these scans with your actual person, face-to-face.

There are other people who feel their sense of modesty is more important than your sense of security. Let's hope the government makes the best decision for the country.
