Long time lurker, first time poster. I've noticed that Aeroplan now offers both Disney onsite accom and park passes. Has anyone used these yet? Thoughts? Thanks.

From what I read a little while ago, it wasn't worth it get your Disney passes from Aeroplan (35,000 points). It worked out better to buy your passes and use your aeroplan points for your flight down. Unless of course you have alot of points. Coming from NL - you'll need the points! A lot cheaper!

I have not yet used this option with my points, but I will.

I agree that you definitely save more $$ using the points for flights, but good luck getting seats if you are not an Elite status member. A good friend of mine accumulated well over 500,000 miles in his account while he was on the road, but since he hasn't travelled much in the last two years, he has lost his status. He has tried unsuccessfully twice to book flights with points and could not get seats because he has a family of four and could not book the seats on one flight.

If you can plan far enough in advance and you don't need too many seats, you will probably be able to book. But if you can't get seats, using the points for other rewards (park tickets, rooms, rental car, etc.) is better than them wasting away waiting for AC to actually free up seats on its flights to its customers.

BTW, I have never had any trouble with AC, but thought that this part of the reality should be out there. I had the same problem with flights with AirMiles, so I used those miles for park tickets as well.

35,000 pts. will almost get you Avenue Reward airline ticket, which should get you more access on AC. We had no problem booking Aevnue 4 months ahead YYZ -> MCO; TPA -> YYZ. Yes it was 37,500 per ticket, but AC now has a way to get you what you like but sure scalps you for it!

How many Air Miles miles does it take to purchase WDW park passes?

Thanks

I don't know if things have changed in the last few months... but I had no problem booking our tickets to WDW using aeroplan points. I did use the internet, and I did book them as soon as I could (10 or 11 months before I think). We didn't have elite status, and I was able to get 6 seats. You can only book 5 together at a time on the web, so I booked 4 and 2 separately. It also helps to be flexible on your dates. I'm going wid-week, and at the time I didn't care which day we left on. PLus, they now give you more options to purchase. If there are no more "regular point" seats left, you can spend 50-75,000 to purchase another seat. It means more points, but if you really want that particular flight it's worth it. If your friend had 500,000 points, they could have purchased any seat they wanted. :confused3

When it comes down to it, if you have a lot of points, by all means buy your passes -- but the cost is equivalent to one and a half seats. I'd prefer to use them for airline tickets.

You can also purchase passes using Airmiles. I found for me the cheapest route was Ticketmania.

Good Morning,

The link milage redemptions for the Disney rewards are on aeroplan.ca, I can't post links yet.

Rewards include MYW park hopper and MYW Premium passes for children and adults from 35,000 to 47,000 and hotels in all three categories both Regular and Peak season from 14,000 to 45,000.

I was wondering if anyone had redeemed for these options and how it worked out.

Thanks

Absolutely not worth it!!! Consider a flight to Hawaii... it is only 40,000 points!

The absolute best deal for us Canadians is to buy your park passes at the Disney Store!

Cheers,
