New Adventureland Sign

They should've built a THIRD GATE!!!! Let's face it. Marvel and Star Wars should have their own park. It just doesn't feel right.
I wholeheartedly agree. I was fully expecting a new, additional north entrance with its own security check and was quite surprised to see that this isn’t the case. It would solve so many crowd flow issues and would make the whole SWGE madness far more manageable. They would have even been able to, if they chose to, turn that into a kind of SWGE standby line at some point down the road, without cluttering the rest of the park. But, hey, nobody’s asking me...
:sad2:

The charm of Adventureland is the tight confines. Want to reduce crowding, raise the prices.

I think while Galaxy's Edge was the reasoning for making Project Stardust a reality, it needed to happen regardless. It will help the flow of the park so much regardless of the new Land.

Marvel, Star Wars and Pixar should have their own park. I would love Disney CALIFORNIA Adventure to be about CA again, not the mishmash they are doing now. Bring back Soaring Over California, and focus on the great stuff CA offered when Walt started his career and up to the present, all the while, focusing on the Calfornia tie in to everything.

The posts holding up the sign take up the same amount of space as parking a couple of strollers in middle of the path

I read this week (can't remember where) that most of these Stardust tweaks are all about keeping "wheels rolling" in the dark after/between shows. i.e. posts, curbs etc are being removed. When strollers and other wheels are in a tight crowd of people in the dark they encounter these obstacles and have to stop to maneuver them. Then people keg up behind them or pile around them.

Not a commentary on for/against. Love that old photo!

The sign will be removed temporarily, it may be an entirely new sign in its place, but there will be sign here. All this is doing is eliminating the the poles and half wall on the right hand side to widen the walkways. I can't find it right now, but Disney did mention this on the parks blog.

And technically they do have to "demolish" the existing sign in order to accomplish this, which is why the permits had to be filed.

In short:
  • Adventureland will get a much needed wider entrance/exit
  • The sign will be removed during construction
  • The same sign (or a similar sign) will be put back in place before the construction is finished
So, no need to worry, it will still have the same feel, just a refreshed and easier to use entrance and exit.
