Al Lutz of MiceAge has another DLR update today. Here is a link: http://miceage.micechat.com/allutz/al052212a.htm.

I was hoping for more juicy details about BVS and CL but maybe those have all been leaked already. :) Today's update is a bit dry.

Highlights include:
  • PAPs now make up 30% of AP holders
  • Club 33 has 400 members and no turnover
  • Sunday June 17 and 24 expected to be really crowded with AP holders
  • Lots of parking issues in late June
  • M&F parking for overnighters before June 15 grand re-opening
  • Rascal Flatts playing at CL June 13 for media (in case you missed it they sing "Life is a Highway" for the Cars movie)
  • Red Car Newsboys - will pass out the "Buena Vista Bugle" with info about DCA

Note: Al Lutz does not work for Disney. His posts are not Disney announcements. He has solid contacts inside Disney and is helpful in giving an indication of what Disney is planning and considering. People planning vacations should be very cautious about making plans based on Al's articles. That is not what they are intended for. Rather, Al tries to give an insider view of what Disney is thinking and planning for those interested in what the future may hold. This can and does change over time.

Here is the disclaimer that Al has at the end of his article.

Keep in mind updates only get posted when there is something to report on, and not before. It takes time to confirm things, and even then we can only offer a snapshot of a continually evolving story. (People do change their minds you know.) Just like the happiest place on earth, patience is a virtue; the queue may take a while before you can enjoy the attraction.

Maybe dry, but still a good read.

How fun that Racsal Flatts is playing CL. Wish I could be there for that, ha! ;)

Thanks, as always, for the awesome breakdown!

Our friend Al is definitely at his snarky best today. Maybe he shouldn't have skipped the Starbucks, after all!

I had a feeling some of the Club 33 members had to have been selling entry to the club for them to put the restrictions in. Not entirely surprising but still obnoxious.

"like a naughty prom date" -- love it! Still unbelievable about the parking situation. You'd think they would start, oh, doing something about it.

They were supposed to, but the previous DLR regime cancelled plans to build a new parking garage. :confused3

He was killing me with his bit about the wellness program--shuttling TDA cubicle-dwellers back and forth so they wouldn't have to walk through their own park.

this part cracked me up as well.
heaven forbid you walk through the place you just had a meeting about... that would be horrible

the *****ing about the stairs in the theater also was funny.
Stairs?!
I have to walk up and down STAIRS!?

Very snarky, but a good read.

Sounds like RSR will be a hot ticket at night. I wonder if this will pressure DL to enforce FP times.

I wondered about this as well. Here is his last line:

"When you swing by the Fastpass machines in A Bug’s Land, the only place you’ll be able to get your Racers Fastpass from, try and make sure you get a Fastpass time that’s after sundown."-- Al Lutz

Why??:confused3

Nothing amazingly new, but still a good read. I did think he was even more snarky than usual with the comments about the executives walking from TDA to the Hyperion, but I thought it was hilarious! :rotfl2:

Also it's getting me pumped to be there on the 15th!!! :yay::yay:

Wow, I knew the 17th was going to be crazy in the parks itself, but it never occurred to me that there might be gridlock around the resort. That's the park day I'm just planning on taking everything in, riding the Matterhorn, and then focusing on Carsland during the MM on the 18th.

We won't have a car, but will be taking Amtrak in from San Diego that morning and taking a cab over to the VGC ... wonder if there's any way to avoid a ridiculous cab fare/waiting in traffic for an hour?

Sounds like it is a different experience at night and the lighting makes for a cool ride. So more people may try to experience it later.

Yes, if you caught any of the AFHV @ Cars Land on Sunday, they showed Racers, Flo's, etc. @ dusk/night and it really looks awesome all lit up.

I must say I enjoyed Al's rant on TDA executives. Pretty much the opposite of WWWD. Now that I have more background, I feel only slightly mollified about the $150 increase in PAPs this year.

He mentioned that the 17th and 24th are going to be packed. I wonder what the crowds will be like on the 15th and 16th in relation to the 17th. Any speculations?

I'm sorry my Why?? was so vague.
I was wondering why Al wants us to pay attention to the fp return times for RSR? Does he think they will be cracking down on this ride for crowd control? Does he think the whole park will start cracking down? Was he just trying to follow official protocol? Or, did he just have a senior moment?:confused3

I think he was just saying that you (as in collective "you") should try and get a FP with an afternoon/evening return time on RSR because it's better at night. I really don't see anything in that statement with a FP enforcement undertone.
